From a school dance last night. Brand symmetry FTW.

Lanvin jacket (I switched the stock gold buttons for smoked grey MOP)
H&M shirt (I wish the gingham were either navy or baby blue, not that awkward royal shade)
Robert Talbott knit tie
Vintage tie clip & white linen PS
J. Press belt
Tibor Kalman Watch
Levi's 510
Sperry x Band of Outsiders shoes

open to constructive criticism, as always

I like the shock of yellow in the tie... but I just have never gotten the forum obsession with boat shoes. I mean, if you like them, great... but I just don't see what gets everybody so worked up about them, especially with a jacket and a tie. As well, I feel like maybe the pants are TOO skinny for the top... it seems just a little out of balance. I like the tie-bar, though.

I would go with a slightly looser cut of pants...those 510s are quite skinny. And I'm not really sure those shoes fit with the rest of the outfit.

Wmmk, it looks nice and I'm sure you looked a hell of a lot better than everyone else, but I have to echo everyone else: pants are just too tight.

just did something simple today, i bought this new hoodie for dirt cheap and it fits me perfectly. edit- just noticed how weird my tshirt collar looks in the first pic.

Wmmk that jacket appears to have one HELL of a low button stance. I think that's what's throwing it off, I don't mind the jean fit so much, you're pretty skinny. A detail shot of the shirt / tie would be nice.

I actually quite dig the skinny white jeans (been looking for a pair myself) and I can see where you're going with this.

Just a few critiques.

-The boat shoes. I've always felt that skinny, tapered jeans look best with ankle boots. Something to do with how the silhouette blends in seamlessly into the stacking and the hem and whatnot. Plus, that adds a new dimension of color you don't need to deal with.

-Not sure about the blazer, it might be too loose, but I can understand a nice relaxed fit. Hard to tell.

-The colors. Blue blazer, light blue shirt, yellow tie, bright white jeans, and tannish shoes. I think that like 2 out of 5 colors are wrong, I don't know. Definitely the shoes for sure, but maybe the tie, but I can see the tie working... but it would depend on your shoes.

Eitherway I like the direction you're taking your outfits and I'm sure the girls liked it at the party/dance.

I think the jeans look way too tight. Almost silly looking. I can't imagine how they'd look with you sitting down.

I really like the top half though. I like those boat shoes, but not sure with that outfit.

wmmk, I think white pants would look good with that outfit but yours are too skinny I think. Coincidentally, I also wore white pants to my school dance last night. Will post pics when I have them.

First post in the casual WAYW...

Nothing special today... Just a sunday at home working on some projects in the basement and playing guitar.

Ty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the jacket looks too big in the shoulders. If its the right fit, the padding makes it look weird and disproportioned, particularly with those jeans. Otherwise, I like this, looks runway-esque.

What exactly is "brand symmetry"?
