Well, I am no native speaker and could get no translation for "swag" that really made sense to me, but based on your onomatopoeia I guess you disagree with my opinion on the sneakers... which of course you are entitled to I would agree in so far as those have become quite common within the last two years... But I do think that they really work with this outfit and after all that's what really counts, don't you agree?

so the picture is kind of awkward, but i just wanted to show the honeycombing on the jeans i'm wearing today. they're super old paper denim & cloth, love them.

Haha.... I don't know if this is a compliment or not! Though, that being said, if you met me in my normal dress (of which bright colors are usually NOT a part) I doubt you'd know I was one of the sisterhood. Nobody else does.

It was a seasonal offering 3-4 years ago; I doubt it's still produced. It was about 40,000 yen, or about $375 at the time. I honestly NEVER ever wear it (I think this is seriously the first time I've worn it out of the house), so if you would like it, just PM me and I'll give you a good deal.

I see what you mean, definitely. That being said, they are actually cotton/linen pants, not really "jeans" per se. The feel of the fabric is definitely not denim-like. But, I agree that in wool or even silk (oo-la-la) they'd be better. I think they were from CN's S/S 03 collection, IIRC. I can't see your face well... but are you Japanese? In any case, your outfit looks great. "Fits" with you very well.

Whoa! Those boots are beautiful! They remind me of a pair of old German Army boots I owned 12 years ago and threw away about 10 years ago... which I should never have done DM = Doc Martens? Can you or anyone elde provide me with some details, like what style those are, and where I can get a pair of them?

I don't know what the model number is but they are the basics of the basics when it comes to DM IMO, 8 eyelet in brown leather. I'm sure you can get them a ton of places if they still make this model. It's been about 11 years since I last looked. Edit: found it: http://zeta.zappos.com/product/118955/color/155 just kidding, they're here but with different sole: http://zeta.zappos.com/product/104730/color/35

I'm a lurker and I'm posting my first picture, because of the "what's wrong with this forum thread". Like I said in that thread, this forum has become too much of a "brandforum" instead of "styleforum" so I'm shaking things up. I own only one "sf approved" item and that's clarks desert boots. I like minimalism, I have a very difficult body type to find clothes for(short, wide and muscular), so I'm hoping to shake things up and bring something fresh here.

Minimal stuff (jil/helmut/etc.) is pretty much my "staple," too. I always like to add ONE hint of color, though, like maybe even something as simple as bright blue or orange or green socks? Or a fuschia or yellow or green or purple belt? It seems like minimalism is great, but needs SOME hint of something off kilter, even if it is just something subtle. As we're trying for a month or so, take come chances... play with a little flair. Like this, from Jil s/s 05:

Lel, that was truly epic. Is the BoO shirt your usual size? If so, I'm surprised that you could fit over the MJK shawlneck without pulling. karmazon, no offense, but I'm not sure how you're really "shaking things up" in that fit. You're just wearing jeans and a [less than awe-inspiring] zip-up sweater which happen to not be from "SF-approved" brands. There isn't really any creativity or imagination in wearing version of the "SF uniform" that happens to have different labels. I know my own fits aren't particularly amazing or adventuresome either, but I'm not going around talking about bringing something fresh.
