Cheers, robin. I'm beginning to wonder who else bought them. I know one guy on sufu did, so maybe I'll head over there for a post.

No harm done. I realize hardly anyone here makes a point of wearing all denim at one time, but for reference, I find my inspiration among guys like this:

Good ol' Corcoran Field Boots. There are usually tons on Ebay, mostly used, though. In my experience, they tend to run about one half size large.

Thanks, Rye. That outfit, with a variation in shirts and sweaters, is pretty much my staple...

...but I do mix things up with some khakis or cords.

I didn't like the fit of the jacket; but, if they still have it in the LA store next time I'm down there I may get it anyway and see what Antonio the Tailor can do.

that's cool...and the coat looks damned good, ziss...but, with all this love for "workwear", i have to wonder why people around here wouldn't be caught dead in something like what these dudes are wearing... maybe because those other guys are all dead and there's no worries about actually being confused with them???

^^Nice shots. It's always cool to see a bunch of SFers getting together in person.

nyc_gaucho: I have an appreciation for historic maritime workwear due to the fact that I've spent most of my life living in historic coastal New England towns, and even worked at a maritime living history museum (in costume!) for a bit. In contrast, the idea of framing a house does absolutely nothing for me. Although I do spend much of my free time restoring historic homes, so I can sometimes be found wearing a toolbelt. I, however, do not own a hard hat.
