I think the look is ruined by the graphic tee. Everything has a nice dressy-but-streerwear feel to it down to the all dark/slim clothing followed by the nicely contrasted coat. Combined with a graphic tee it has a very cheesy hipster vibe that says "I thrifted this coat and it's the only one I have so I wear it with everything".

I'd rather see him wear those than any other normal sneakers, because it is consistent with his style.

Jack Purcell and Spring Court both come to mind. Classic white tennis shoes are perfect for those occasions (and a much better looking option than dress-sneaker hybrids imo).

I like (of course - well except the trademark smily)!
Especially the colour of the wingtips is fab! I'd so like to have NOS Cordo Florsheim Longwings in a UK 7 (US7.5?) - anyone?

- I was too, but with all my travel (& I like to walk when I get to my destination) these will be great as I can pair them up with pants etc. - also great at airport security as my dress shoes all have metal tips! - The first few hours were odd, then I went back & bought a pair in navy suede! - I have a pair of Dior sneakers from a few years ago, they just never felt right with majority of my style- though they did look good with raw denim - I also have a pair of old white JP, but they are for kicking around the house etc.

thanks. weavers are essentially an ugly shoe but they are special, i think. they work better with a slimmer silhouette.

PG i think those brogued sneakers look both appropriate/fantastic with your fit.

It's more of a complimenting critique than an insulting one if that's the vibe I gave off. It's just that all the other pieces go together very nice and as stupidly shallow as this sounds, it seems like the jeans/shoes/coat are all nice and expensive while the shirt is something random you threw on. That's just me though.

I think it's just the attempt at broguing that throws me off. If that element was removed I wouldn't have a problem with them. Actually I find the overall shape very sleek and elegant, especially for a sneaker. I find this very appealing and it strikes me as a sneaker I would wear, minus the brogue-attempts.

I was being sincere; I did thrift that coat and I do wear it with everything. For years I had this weird personal ban on black clothing and I've only recently broken it, so that's actually the only black top I own.

Hmm, noted. Could use a tapering.

Thanks. These are just some cheapos that I bought used on ebay for dirt cheap.. Started out a standard burgandy/cordovan color but I've been alternating between brown and cordovan polish (and stripping the top layer occasionally) and they're taking on a pretty swell black cherry color.
