no shit, white docs wouldnt have gone too well at gigs, tho a friend who used to sing for a local oi-punk band called The Malchicks wore em well with a "clockwork" theme.

I dont even like black ones really, just oxblood/cherry red for me

It's always interesting to see the reactions to GS wearing docs. Is there any other shoe out there with so many emotional associations?

Not unless you pair them with rolled trousers

...a long time ago I saw a few dark brown 1460s and astronauts around (not greasy leather but normal). Liked those quite a bit but never owned a pair. Seem to have disappeared... ...and I was thinking about other 'emotional' shoes. There are none - or maybe Birkenstocks (in a very negative way...)...

Since you own a fair amount of docs, how much should I size down due to UK sizing?

dang i momentarily thought that ghulkhan was back

I would like Mauro's look better with a belt. Belts make everything better. And to Toru, I thought have thought that was ghulkan the whole day. I didn't bother to read the name.

Heh, I thought about birks too. But with docs you have a long history behind them, not all pleasant.

Not even close. Everything you wear is oversized.

Target sweater, 5epxsf, paul smith Yesterday's sweater was too big and this one's too small - damn you Target sizing.

hard to tell since most originals photos are in b/w but werent the dark brown ones supposedly more popular than the oxbloods in the 60s (?)

IME, docs run 1/2 size small. and since there are no half sizes my take is if you are normally UK7 (US8), get UK8 (US9) and use an insole if they're a bit large. If you're a half, definitely go up to the next full size
