PosterX: "HOLY CRAP! that sweater is f'in awesome!!!! Where can I cop that?????"

iLL: Abercrombie

(PosterX's original post gains an edit tag. He needs to save his internet dignity.)

The internetz boys are going to tell you to get darker jeans. period. the jacket looks like it could work, but the collar on that tee is a little weird...I can appreciate what you're going for...also, since you're fortunate enough to wear glasses, trick those out

i've quoted myself just for continuity's sake

I get that you want some individuallity here but aren't a majority of people here swearing by a common aesthetic. I get that if it looks bad it looks bad (fit). Common shouldn't be the issue IMO. I have a great pair of mossimo jeans by the way.

I'm with braid on this. It helps avoid the three or four questions within ten pages that go, "Sauce, nice stain on your shirt? Ketchup? A1? Where can I find that online?"

I don't buy robin's comment for a second. Everyone knows he's going to be wearing EG or a similar brand. I'll turn over in my grave the day someone asks what jacket he's wearing and he replies, "H&M." Similarly, you get a sense of what brands a person's wearing after reading the threads long enough. I'll post my brands every once in a while but I think people have figured out what I like to wear by now. They've seen my closet and visa-versa. Take rye's last shot, for example: the only thing I didn't know brand-wise was his shirt which I assumed was AA until corrected.

yeah i don't think listing the brands make much of a difference, especially if you make regular appearances in here. Also don't agree with people nutting over him listing something as Yohji, if anything that's one of the brands i'd last expect to see someone on Styleforum beast over.

i've been tempted to go over to some board where nobody knows me, posting myself in YY and listing the clothes as "Mossimo for Target/Zara/H&M" or something of the like to see how people would respond

This I don't understand. You say your with braid that people should list WTW but that you post your brands every once and a while. Is that because the folks who know you here know what you're usually wearing. And if so, is the point for new people to list because their preferences are not known yet? Also wouldn't the new members be unaware of what you're preferences are if you don't decide to list.

Yes, of course.

Yes, of course, however, more often than not I do list. Plus, if I'm not listing it's because I've worn the article repeatedly, especially with jeans since I normally rotate between two among all the other pairs I own. If they did their homework and read the threads, they'd get a hint.

FYI, it's pretty much always La Victoria's Salsa Brava. To my dismay, you can't get it on the internet, and they don't sell it out here. I bring as much home with me on the plane as I can when I visit the fam.
