MJK- What jacket of your's is that? Looks linen. I really like the color, although i know i don't have a ton to wear with it. Your past few fits have really looked nice. Partly because your shoes the past month or so have been better. The last 2 may be 2 of my favorites of your's i've seen.

Yeah, it is linen. We had one in the sale, but it sold pretty quickly...

i must say i absolutely love all the attention paid to cowboy boots and western shirts lately on this forum... i love both... such a simple look yet so refreshing to see done properly when it is which is seldom... i enjoy watching guys try to pull it off.. you have alot of people around here who try to wear um tucked in and buttoned all the way up with some sneakers lol... and others who wear um untucked but have a white t shirt on underneath... so many different things you can do with um as far as layering and so forth i think everybody should try to rock a few every now and again..

ill be the first to own up to the fact that hey alot of what i try to do fashion wise is for female attention or at least to make me feel congruent with a self made image of a man that desires female attention... i other words i like the masculine look as opposed to the androgenous thing you get around here alot... i mean if youve ever put any thought into the immasculization of the american male this is a good place to look for evidence...

but of all the the different fits i sport around town i must say the western shirt seems to get the most attention from the opposite sex... i dont know what it is about um... well actually i do but its not even close during the daytime they just draw attention and always recieve compliments... but from my perspective there should be a few rules when wearing um....

1.) buy western shirts from people who are known for making western shirts.... levis, wrangler, feel totally free to buy 200 dollar modernized shirts from some of the affiliates around here... u know the ones that give a new twist to a classic american look... u know the new twist thats totally unnecessary and looks douchey... IMO opinion they stop way to short theyre not long enough and look too contrived the beauty of the western shirt is its not supposed to cost 200 dollars u know? just stick to levis the fits cant be beat look for LVC or ebay items...

2.) do not tuck them in with the sleeves down and wear a belt...unless the situation dictates it but it kind of kills the i dont give a fuck attitude thats necessary...

3.)unbutton the top two buttons... always.. and unless its cold dot wear anything underneath it... if it is cold than henleys or thermals would work just fine..

4) do not wear after the sun goes down... unless your really a cowboy or at a rodeo or something western shirts ARE NOT EVENING WEAR,,,

5.) no douchey sneakers i.e. chucks or lame frye boots... step it up to some lucchese and never look back...

thats about it feel free to flame away..

Too long for me to take time reading enough to make a decent statement to flame.

I agree with a number of the shirt points (even though I don't like cowboys or something):
  • don't tuck them in - unless you are working something and it's in the way
  • don't wear anything under
  • don't button all the way up
  • don't wear at night - clubbing / lounging or *gasp* a nice restaurant
  • sneakers with these shirts - just don't look good

Having said this, I *hate* cowboy boots
