And by dance I mean real Dance music, not whatever was on the radio two decades ago..

Stuff like eurodance, freeestyle, trance, etc.

I don't know why but i started missing the days when back in my own country (venezuela) we would go to this club that was basically a big warehouse where you could dance to this kind of music all night along to upwards of 8 in the morning. It was great, you could buy glowsticks at the front or bring your own if you wanted to mess around with those and the foam nights were really fun.

If you didnt know..yeah..trance and electronic are big in metropolis' in South America, not just europe.

So if there are ANY clubs around the minneapolis area that sport synth heavy music, please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think Minnesota is very well represented here. I'm in Minneapolis, but I don't know of any dance clubs here... or anything else for that matter.

Not officially. It's been years since I lived there, but back then it was all private parties. Not true raves, but the minnesota nice version of a rave. The best way would be to find a good record shop - back in my day it was the Electric Fetus - and ask where to find good dance music. That'll get you either connected to another store or a DJ.

It's pretty conformist up there, so good luck.

Yeah Count Demoney, I've had tat feeling for a while haha. Anyway a little update:

Went to the craziest party last night. Completely unexpected. I felt like I stepped into a vampire film. Everyone ws wearing black leather clothing and shiny black plastic stuff and all the men had make up on (loads of it). I think it was a theme party? Anyway, the music was on the lower floor and as soon as I walked in I was hit by the trance wave. That's all they were playing down there, everyone was twirlin' sticks and stuff, it was crazy. Anyway I struck up a quick conversation with one of the DJ's and asked him where in minn. could I find such exhilirating music. He of course..said I wouldn't find hard dance anywhere in this state unless it's at a party, but I could find dance music and mellow freestyle stuff at clubs like The Foundation or Aqua.

I'm going to go to these two adn check them out. I'm posting the information here incase anyone has had the same quarrel and have run into a dead end. I lucked out last night.

I apologize for the spelling mistakes but I'm very tired and am too careless to revise what i just wrote. Consider it a spur of the moment thing if you will.

Cheers.

You can go to The Gay 90s which is a huge 3 story club where only the top floor is gay and the bottom two have one (I think the 1st) straight/mixed hip-hop and the middle floor is dance music. Other than that all of the other clubs are right around there downtown on Hennepin.

I find that city pages is seldom helpful, but thanks. I've been comtemplating going to the Gay 90's , I have a friend that used to play live salsa with his ensemble there back in the 80's. I have to find a new group of friends that like this type of music as the ones I currently have are insecure heterosexual men that are like indie and garage rock a little too much and have complete disregard for anything else (i go to a music college, so you have to assume that everyone is very strong minded about what they like and don't like). I'm latin and am (naturally??) comfortable with my sexuality so I don't mind going to places with nice big signs that say "Gay 90's" I jut need to find a new group I guess.

Sorry about that..anyway that's the lsit of places to go I guess: Gay 90's, Foundation, and Aqua
