Is "Trofeo" just a line of EZ fabric, or is it also a line of clothing tailored by EZ? Reason I ask is because I recently picked up a sportcoat on ebay with an "Emernegildo Zegna Trofeo" on ebay for a pretty decent price and I thought it would be some ****** suit made with pretty decent Zegna fabric. I got the sportcoat today and it had a lot of the trimmings of a finely made coat (full canvas construction, nice cut, etc.). Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and my expectation were exceeded (except for the fact that one of the sleeves is too short, which I hope is something that my tailor can fix).

Trofeo is one of Zegna's fabric types.

That's what I thought. Perhaps this is an MTM or bespoke suit made with Zegna fabric. Not sure that there's any way to find out.

You can get information about Trofeo and other Zegna cloth on their site Zegna.com under MTM. I have a number of suits in trofeo and I am told it is about super 120. My Trofeo suits recover well and there are a lot of different designs availble. It has nothing to do with how they make them. You can have them MTM in the standard quality or the Couture quality which has much more handwork in them and is based on the Napoli school of tailoring.

Well, in any case, I got myself a navy sportcoat in a nice fabric and a nice cut with canvas construction for $50. Regardless of whether it is Zegna or not, it's a good deal.
