Persol 649 arm length issue

Those that own these sunglasses. I know everyone on this forum says to get the 52mm, not the 54. The problem is the arms on the 52mm dont appear long enough on anyone that I see wearing them. They tend to float at the ear instead of resting on the ear. Does anyone else notice this as well? This image shows what I mean. Notice where the arm ends, it doesnt go behind the ear, it looks like its barely clinging on. Is that how it should be? I tried on the 52mm at sunglass hut and had the same issue. I am not a big guy either. 5'8" 155lbs. It was for this reason alone that I got the 54mm, the arm is slightly longer and doesnt do this.

I'm smaller than you. I had the 52, modified them myself over boiling water (highly wouldn't recommend) and made them work. Now have the 54s, although they are bigger everyone says they look good and the arms are long enough for my egg head!

I'm a big fan of Persol, but some of the models have temple arms that are ridiculously short. The 649 is one of them. The 9-649, however, has good length arms and I'd recommend trying it out. It's a slightly updated, slimmed-down version of the 649.
