Jantzen, Reliable at last? - Page 16

I finally received, around a month ago, a shirt I ordered around seven months ago.

The fit was good and, having read about the great turnaround in service, I figured I would order a couple more.

That was almost a month ago and I have heard nothing despite numerous e-mails asking for a confirmation. Hopefully, the shirts will be on my front step soon...

I think I'm going to take the plunge and order a few shirts. Atleast one of them is going to be a solid white.

Can anyone recommend a good solid white material. There are so many to choose from on the website. I usually prefer something a bit thicker and possibly textured as opposed to the very thin almost shiny white fabric some lesser brands use. Is there anything like this available from Jantzen?

Despite having given up Jantzen for Geneva, I couldn't help myself and ordered a few shirts for self:

Spread collar

Button down

Jantzen*2634
Jantzen*2120

And for my wife:

No confirmation, yet. Damn you Jantzen and your remarkably affordable sartorial goodies!

My first attempt at ordering from Jantzen was maybe a year ago. I never received any shirts.

I tried again for some casual shirts where fit issues are not as important to me. Placed order on September 24. Never heard/received anything. Called Ricky on Oct 31/Nov 1 or so. Received e-mail on November 2 informing me the fabrics I selected were out of stock. Replied on November 3 with new fabrics. I think I'll give him a call tomorrow to confirm.

I have always been lucky and had great success with Jantzen. However I placed an order a month or so ago and have sent a few follow up emails with no reply or confiramtion . Hoping they just show up one day soon.

Chorse, what is your opinion on there buttondown shirts? Have been wanting to order a few, just worried about the roll of the collar.

I'm not much of a connoisseur when it comes to button-downs, so I can't really say. The points seemed a little short, so on this one I specified a larger collar. Also, the thicker buttons are a pain when it comes to buttoning and unbuttoning the collar, so now I'm going with the regular mop. I often wear them unbuttoned.

Thank you. I can see how there larger MOP buttons would be a PITA. Once I receive my latest order I think I will pull the trigger on a couple and see how it goes.

Are you talking about the thicker self-shank MOP buttons? I think the biggest problem with those is that they have notches that catch on the button hole. If they were smooth and didn't have notches, then everything would be great. Anyway, I've gotten so frustrated with Jantzen (haven't received anything for over a year, while having re-placed my order four times) that I now make my own.

A late August order arrived in early October, for me, and it was about 15 days between order & confirmation and about 15 days between receiving & billing. One of the shirts was made in the wrong fabric - I looked it up and someone must have copied the fabric number incorrectly, changing a "5" to a "3." I didn't much care, and I ordered another 4 shirts without complaint. I have yet to receive a confirmation email for the most recent order.

The order that sailed through specified no changes to the model & style of my previous order. The order that has stalled (or has been skipped) specified changes to both. So I wonder if Ricky is not more likely to skip your order if it is more troublesome than others.

I also wonder if the period of quick internet turnaround did not correspond to a few weeks of abnormally low walk-in business. They had just moved their store ...

I've tried to submit orders online yesterday and again today, but always get an error (Page Cannot be Found... or whatever) when pushing the "submit" button at the end. I finally emailed my order details and pointed out the problem. Has anyone else experienced this recently?

I always get buttondown's from Jantzen. I think the roll is good, especially on Oxford cloth, which is unfortunately not in copious variety. Here is something I wore yesterday.

Probably my only complaint is the collar buttons are too big.

Placed an order in April, got 2 of the 3 shirts in September. Still haven't received the third, more then two months after Ricky said he would get it to me "later". Sorry, but this crap is totally out of order. I don't care how good the value or quality is, I refuse to be strung along like this. And "reliable" is not a term I would remotely connect with Jantzen. Ricky will never see any business from me again.

I experienced the same problem last week, despite trying various times and from various pcs/servers. I finally called Ricky, who told me to just email him my order. I hope to see the shirts someday.

I ordered 3 shirts in late August, Ricky replied in Sept that he was out of all the fabrics, so I gave him a list of about 8 alternates. Shirts arrived mid-Oct and none of the three were in fabrics from my list. In fact, I can't even trace these mystery fabrics on the web site.

That said, I actually really liked all three fabrics, so in the end I was fine with it. Jantzen is a great deal, but you sometimes need to offset it with a lot of flexibility.

Yep. Happened to me a couple of days ago as well. I must have hit submit 20 times over the cource of a couple of hours.
