Jantzen, Reliable at last? - Page 129

Recap: I placed an order for five shirts in May. Two months later, the order arrived, missing one shirt. My card had been charged for all five shirts.

Finally got my missing shirt on Friday. It looks fine. So the final tally:

Quote:

Order placed: 5/3/10
Out of stock notification: 5/26/10
Confirmed: 6/29/10
Card Charged: 7/11/10
Received: 7/17/10 (missing one shirt)
Out of stock notification (on missing shirt): 8/17/10
Missing shirt received: 9/10/10

To be fair, this is the first order (out of at least five or six) that Jantzen has screwed up for me. I will probably use them again, but this experience has dulled my enthusiasm for them.

I think by now everyone on SF knows that you probably will have to wait more than a couple of weeks to get a shirt from Jantzen, but if you're happy with the product and price and know that you won't receive it straight away then surely it's not too much of an issue?

Yeah,

The orders will still take a while. I placed an order on June 1st, got the shirt two weeks ago. This was my first order with Jantzen, and actually the fit came out very good (only change I would have made is maybe increase the sleeves by 1cm), and I really like the shirt. However, with other places offering a more streamlined website with better pictures, secure ordering forms, and a much faster turnaround (usually within 2 weeks), I am probably not going to use Jantzen again.

I can see and touch the material. Do not forget my order and I hope it is satisfied. Fabric has been washed so shrinkage is less of a problem

Makes sense; I would not believe it when you see it either.

Really? Thought it was too well written for that.

I think they choose an early post from the same thread and then copy it.

Am I blind or does Jantzen not offer any plain white fabrics? All I can find are oxfords, patterned twills or some weird stripy stuff.

Cotton Twill #22 (white) has gotten good reviews here. I have one shirt in this fabric and am happy with it.

I was under the impression that only the latest material and extra fine cotton fabrics were actually in stock?

You may be right. However, each time I ordered a cotton twill from Ricky they were in stock. I have at least three Jantzen cotton twills. YMMV!

Cool, I'll give those a try then, thanks.

^^ I just placed another order for a few Cotton Twill #22 (White) shirts myself. Let's see how it goes. This may be the first time that Ricky doesn't write back and tell me that one of my shirt fabrics is out of stock!

I have ordered a number of patterned shirts for Jantzen but I need some very basic colors for easy matching with ties, so I am looking for recommendation on:

1. Plan white shirt
2. Plan very light blue (SKY) like here.
3. Plain very light pink like here.

Any fabric recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks!
