Ordered 22nd of june Confirmation 23rd of june received 7th of juli First of all I think I didn't get what I ordered. If so, out of the 5 shirts I ordered in 3 batches, he got 3 right. I am mostly happy none the less. I ordered something close to this: Special for Thicker Watch: Left Hand 1/4" Bigger Shirt Fitting: Tight (2"-4" Allowance) Share of Shoulder: Regular Shoulder Shade of Body: Normal Shade Collar Style: Collar Style # 18, (Large Regular Point with Dual Button) Collar Stay: Set-in Collar Stay Interlining: soft Tie space: 1/2" (Big) Back Height: 2" (Very High) Stitching for Collar & Cuff: 1/4" (Our Standard) Collar Point: 3 3/4" (Very Long) Color of Button Hole and Button Thread: Select One Cuff Style: normal cuff Contract Collar: Self Collar & Cuff Cuff Height: 3 1/4" (Extra Long) Pocket Style : Pocket Style No. 2 no flap (Diamond) Number of Pocket: Single Pocket Front Placket: French Front with Stitching Width of Placket: normal Sleeve: Long Sleeve Sleeves Slit Extra Button: With Sleeves Extra Button Shirt Tail: Regular Tail MOP buttons Edit: Middle box pleat, for movability. I think I ordered 2 checkered fabrics of which one was sold out. He replaced that one with one of the option I gave him. First: Jantzen 4249 (as ordered) (Below, crappy mobile phone pictures) Folded Front Side Close up Second I'm quite sure I didn't order any stripes... Perhaps/maybe Jantzen*2547, White with Rose Pink Classic Stripe, 110's, 2 Ply, 100% Italian Cotton OR Jantzen*2675, White & Pink Classic Stripes, 110's, 2 Ply, 100% Italian Cotton. OR look it up yourself. Folded Front Side Close up Finally one ordered earlier:

wow, those are some loooong collars. I think thats the same purple gingham I just ordered.

those collars are ghastly.

has anyone heard from ricky in the past few days? im still waiting for a confirmation and an answer to my email
post #1357 of 2007
I should have said 'Of course I'm open to constructive critique'. They looked better with a firmer interlining though.

+100. Not only do they have a strong Goodfellas whiff about them, they also look extremely flimsy... Edit: OK, more constructively -- double-button collars like that work much better as spreads, I think. I also don't get why anyone would ever get set-in stays: it doesn't add anything and removes the option of leaving the stays out. The cuffs look too long and skinny, and although the overall sleeve length looks OK, with those cuffs, the sleeves seem too long to me.

Has anyone gotten a nice light/ice blue fabric? I am afraid of some of the ones on the site as they appear too aqua(?). Any advice is appreciated.

Christ, I wish I could get that perfect a fit on my Jantzens.

I don't think the collars are that bad. However, while I have maybe 6 shirts with that same collar style, I feel that the 2 button spread with 3 3/4 points works better for me.

I placed an order on the 6th; haven't gotten a confirmation email yet.

This is my 2nd Jantzen shirt, the first was slightly too loose in the torso. The one thing I'm noticing is that when I raise my arms, the shoulders of the shirt raise up (red circled area of pic) and the sleeves also ride up. Does this mean that some other part of my shirt is sized wrong? Maybe I have sloped shoulders? (I specified regular shoulder in the order)

The fabric is real nice, but doesn't quite come up in the photos. Light blue royal herringbone, 8396.

BTW, turnaround time from Ricky has been about 2 weeks for both shirts from him so far.

I am not an expert here but I had a similar problem on my first shirt. I just reduced my shoulder measurements, got rid of the pleats and selected form fitting from my previous "normal". Seems to work for me.

The shoulder measurements you provided seem a little too wide to my eyes. I'm sure others can offer more constructive help.

Shoulders do look a little wide, and yours are indeed rather sloped.

Noted. I thought that since I am quite tall I needed longer cuffs. Perhaps I'll reconsider. FYI, the shirts haven't been washed yet, so no shrinkage. But I know that's not your point. About the set-in stays. I always lose the loose ones in the washing mashine...

Thank you. Yes, next time I might try the #G18 and not the #18 collar.
