- the ravings of a man lost in his own delusions. Where has anyone made such an assumption? Every single statement you make supports the conclusion that you are a very low level employee in a large company - perhaps janitorial or building security - with delusions of someday moving up, and very frustrated by the fact that you are passed up by the incompetents who supervise you. I doubt you keep a job more than a few months at a time.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The whole meeting is in hysterics, I have printed what you said off in size 42 font, and stuck it on my office door. I will cherish the memory, that someone said that to me forever and ever.

I personally will be wearing a black and white dress shirt, and black trousers. However, I am unsure what others will be wearing. Thus, I need suggestions as to what you think the employees will wear.

In addition, do you think I should dress differently?

I would not like to cause embarrassment to any employee, e.g. one who turns up in jeans, when everyone else is wearing semi-formal wears, as it would indeed be my fault, due to a lack of given information.

I think you should wear a suit but forgo the tie. My guess is that your international managers will be similarly attired.

As you said, it's too late to let people know what is appropriate. If you sense some employees are uncomfortable due to your semi-formal dress, take off your jacket and carry it on your arm.

Kalra, from the original post (as if the title weren't enough), you asked:

"In addition, do you think I should dress differently?"

My answer is yes and I suggested a good, flexible option.

Normally, I wouldn't really give a damn about people's silly internet fantasies, but since you've managed to annoy me now with your curt response to my good advice (offered with the best intentions), I'll have to agree with the skeptics that believe you are not who you claim to be. How do I know this with a high degree of certainty? Because a while back, you published a picture of an item of clothing located in what you claimed was your bedroom. The room clearly had wall-to-wall carpeting. Wall-to-wall carpeting is really a pretty low class, low-quality flooring option. It wouldn't be found in ANY building of higher-end construction or recent renovation. And certainly not in the master bedroom, of all places.

Regards,
Montecristo

Thank you for the help, but unfortunately the meeting is now over, well the bulk of it. I wore, as I said a dress shirt and trousers. There was no problem, everyone else wore the same, or perhaps a jacket as well, but they were removed, because of the heat.

How was I offensive to you, I appreciated your advice, anyway, that was, as I said my apartment in Mayfair a building (Grade II Listed) from circa 1860.

I was merely telling you that I was not really asking what I should wear, but more so what I should do to ensure uniformity amongst colleagues.

Unrelated, but what else would one have?

Anyway, I do know that we are all laughing together at this person who thinks I am a janitor.

Actually, from your avatar you look like one of the bellhops from the hotels I stay at while in NYC. If anyone ever worndered how Kalra has so many posts (Over 700) the answer is that on every thread he is involved in there are about 40 Kalra posts. (someone should be shorting LM's companies and making alot of money) In the inimitable words of Kermit De Frog...It aint easy being green. CM

Kalra, I used to live in Mayfair as well, on Hertford Street about a block from the park. My small suite had hardwood floors--the maid's chamber (which was used as a spare bedroom) was carpeted. What street are you on?

For some reason, this had me laughing hysterically.

On a serious note, doesn't the UK have some pretty tough libel/defamation laws? I've got to believe the real Mr. Mittal - who by all accounts is a very kind and compassionate person for a multibillionaire - would have some sort of claim against Avnish (or whatever his real name is) for the way he has sullied Mr. Mittal's name on this forum.

So do France and Rome, so dont try changing now and making us believe you are Napolean or Julius Ceasar. CM

I do not get you weirdos... If you do not want to believe I am myself, then do not speak to me, simple. I am not going to say I am not myself because some people tell me I am not. Is this maybe a metal asylum, here stands Lakshmi Mittal, the metal patients declare that is not Mittal, it cannot be, he has a carpet, (in case you did not realise 99% of homes in the UK have carpet, the other 1% is oak for the drawing room, and marble for kitchens and bathrooms) this cannot be Mittal, he is too arrogant, but wait, who is insulting me, who is calling me a janitor, who is saying I am not myself, who is constantly saying, a man of your caliber, who is placing me on a higher horse than I already am, I do not get it, sure it is good to be me, but it is not so unbelievably good that it is a fallacy to believe. NEVER FORGET; I WISHED TO CONCEAL MY IDENTITY - PEOPLE ON THE BOARD PUSHED ME TO REVEAL. I DID NOT WANT TO. HOWEVER, NOW THAT I HAVE; I FEEL THAT SOME RESPCT IS IN ORDER.
