This is recent and probably the most "me" MC fit that I've done. My other fits are more work appropriate and so are more representative of how I wear MC.

This is more "me" though. (Click to show)

I was thinking that another interesting, and related, challenge would to be to post the fits you were most proud of. A degree of difficulty sort of thing. The voting would be interesting for that as well. For example, I'd post this as my entry for that challenge:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Way, way, way far away from my favorite fit ever. But I can't think of one that I was more pleased with.

I like that idea too: the most difficult fit that you've managed to put together succesfully.

Great example of such a fit, BTW. You can justifiably be proud of that one.

I was hesitating a bit but think that the most 'me', both in terms of temperature and number of layers, is this. Grey check suit, layer of cardigan to add a bit of contrast and colour, white shirt with soft collar, small pattern tie (preferably blue), white linen PS and black oxford shoes.

I remember being impressed by this when it was first posted on WAYWRN, and remember being surprised that you owned that tie.  Similarly for your entry for the Yellow Tie Friday Challenge (both impressed and surprised) and I posted about that at the time.  The surprise wasn’t because I think there’s anything objectively ‘wrong’ with those ties, but rather that, being hard to work into a fit, they run counter to your oft-expressed wardrobe-creation philosophy of buying items which are versatile, which is to say, capable of combining with a lot of other things in a wardrobe.  If there are stories behind those ties that you’d be willing to share, I’m sure we’d be interested.

That suggests another degree-of-difficulty challenge, a proper subset of yours:  a “difficult tie” challenge.   As I’ve remarked before, I find especially interesting those challenges which inspire things one wouldn’t routinely encounter over on WAYWRN, and that would certainly do that I imagine.

Cheers,

Ac

I definitely wouldn't buy the yellow tie again (pre-SF) and I'm not sure I'd buy the RLPL paisley against either. If it were just money vs that tie, I'd probably pick the tie (because it's a nice tie to own, if not to wear). But if it were that tie vs another, I'd probably pick the other)

I wanted to post a fit for this challenge but outside of my everyday work uniform and what I mostly wear at home and on weekends is tshirt and jeans and gym shoes. If I had to pick an one that I really liked or would like to be considered more my style it would include patterns and textures a plenty. I like the combination of patterns and textures here. Some didn't think the vest fit with everything and that's fine, for me it pulled it together a bit. Despite this suit not fitting/flattering me all that well I love the pattern in it.

crappy full length/poor camera position

Also I still like a lot light purple - or whatever that color is - shirts. I bought this Barba a few months after I joined SF but didn't know with which to to use it other than purple. So I got this Conrad Wu and two HC ties that well with it. So here's my entry:

Ah, that's a pity. Can't you post an old fit, like most of us have done?

Wore this to a rooftop cocktail party this week. Figure it captures my general appreciation of boring combinations and white shirts with suits. Black punch caps (6 years old and still going strong from Alden) not pictured. Couldn't be bothered to retake the picture so that the sleeves look more even; such is life.

Thanks! They're black Carminas. I managed to get a decent shine on them (rare for me) and the light was right.
