Simple challenge this week. But simultaneously very difficult. I'm full of fake paradoxes like that. Think of me as a cut-price Yoda.
So here it is:
You at your You-iestWarning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
You're on Styleforum, so you're interested in style. You probably like having (or developing) a personal style. But have you really found one that works? Let's see the fit that sums you up the best: the intersection between how you see yourself, how you'd like others to see you, and all that you've learned so far from SF.
This isn't quite the same as being the best outfit you can put together. I mean, if you've been on the board more than a couple of weeks, you probably know exactly what SF likes the most and can create an identikit fit that would garner a lot of votes. The challenge here, if you choose to play the game straight, is to figure out the outfit that manages to be both popular by SF standards and still has enough of your own identity to not look & feel like you're dressing in a uniform. The best posters here, IMO, have outfits that are "them" regardless of pose or being able to see their face, but it's also a style that looks good enough to be popular at the same time.
Voters will doubtless decide for themselves what criteria to use when judging; maybe they'll give lots of votes to "uniform" fits... but going by the thumbs system, while certain motifs get a consistent number of thumbs, the very best outfits get more, and those are the ones that add something a little special to the fit. Something of the wearer's own identity & style. Or, you might think I'm wrong, and the uniform will win, so you might try to game this challenge and go for that anyway. It's entirely up to you. And will be a fun experiment in that regard either way!!
Tailored jacket required, if only to keep it CM-appropriate. Tie/square optional but appreciated.
Deadline is whenever I get a chance to log on on Sunday 3rd August. Probably somewhere around mid-afternoon BST.
Thank you all for getting into the spirit of things and submitting such high quality entries!
