Thanks gents - I'm really impressed with these shoes and can truly appreciate why some members prefer the Greens over the C&J handgrades. They are definitely a finer shoe in both construction and finish. And now for some advice. I'm considering a monk strap for my next purchase (probably some time in the fall) and the two that have caught my eye are the Lobb William picture
and Green's Westminster picture
. For me, the advantage of the Green is that I can choose the last and get the nice antique finish - I'd probably lean towards the Edwardian antique on the 888. The Lobb's, however, are the original double-monk and that, in a way, has its own appeal too. Any thoughts? Any comments on the relative quality of these two pieces of footwear?
