Kai posted something about some C&J veldtschoen boots (Snowdons?) in my "foul weather shoes" thread a couple of weeks ago. Â I wouldn't want Snowdons for a daily wear shoe, but they seem like a great shoe for bad weather. Â As far as the Cheaneys go, aren't those one of the "any width as long as it's UK F" shoes? Â My feet are too narrow for those, but if you fit a US E, they might be good.
Veldtschoen shoes/boots are waterproof construction and a kind of heavy work shoes/boots, so they are worn with thick socks generally. I'm slightly narrow width(US C width), but Trickers veldtschoen boots(UK E width) fit me well with thick socks. Edward Green is also making veldtschoen shoes/boots(pet names are Dundee/Galway). Since Edward Green accepts a personal order(this is not bespoke), you can buy veldtschoen on your favorite Edward Green's last, if you need it.
