Great way to build dialogue and connect with clients. Business 101. Not even 101, really just 1

This. I asked him when we started to send whatever pictures he can. Why would I not want to see pictures of my jacket? This is the first time I get the see the cloth in jacket form. I really appreciate the little things like this.

Exactly.

I'm constantly (well, not actually constantly) badgering Matthew for more pictures like this. It's a great way for them to keep remote customers engaged in the process. It's easy for them to do and it builds tremendous word-of-mouth advertising when folks like us post these pictures all over the internet.

They had this great idea for an online system a few years ago. Basically, customers could log in to their website using customer-specific accounts. Then they could see the details of their latest order and photos of their jacket or pants being made.

I thought it was a great idea -- partly to engage the customer, partly to help with online promotion, and partly to make sure the customer's specs were the same as what was written down (so you could double check and make sure all your details were right).

It quickly fell by the wayside though. I don't think they have enough staff for those sorts of things.

Yeah, I remeber seeing that on the old site and looking forward to using it when I started with them. No biggie though...I can just shoot Matthew a message and he's happy to send pics or even videos. It's been a great experience so far. I wasn't sure if I was going to be a repeat bespoke customer, but it's highly likely now.

I really like the cut of their jackets. The tailoring is soft, but it has more shape than what you'd get out of a totally unstructured garment.

Wait for the finished product first.

What? You mean you can't tell from the pre-first fitting mock up of the jacket as modeled by someone other than the person who placed the order?

That's the plan...why I said "highly likely".

No idea what bry2000 is on about...think someone took the jam out of his donut.

All good. Good luck with the sport coat!

Had a fitting for a suit where the baste/forward fitting looked better than the finished product. You never know what you're going to get.

Eh, it's a bit of a useless picture to anyone but you, and even for you it just gives you a sense of how the cloth looks made up. I'd still prefer that on a tailor's dummy than some person who is not your height/build as well. I mean it's nice they are willing to send pictures and what not, but I don't think it's all that necessary or some amazing selling point. Now something to double check things are written down correctly on your order, that I can get behind.

I'm sure everyone is hoping you're happy with the final product, but I'd guess the commentary is more so on the usefulness of that picture. Lovely cloth choice.

Haha. Lordsuperb, were you an old Darren Beaman customer, too?

I dont think he was using it to see if it would fit him or not. Just using it to see how the cloth looks, and where the progress is at.

Totally agree that the picture is only good for seeing how the cloth looks made up. I never said it did anything more and neither did Steed. I highly doubt he send pictures like this to all of their customers, but I asked him to send whatever he could. I'm glad he did. He could have thrown it on a small child for all I care...it's just nice to see the progress.
