I like both Tofani and Ciardi, otherwise I wouldn't order again to them, they have a different cut so they don't do exactly the same things. I didn't have the occasion to try all of them, but I like their cut and their vision of tailoring, there is a good feeling between us, they are devoted on their works etc...

But in 2017 I'll try a florentine tailor, in order to try something else, and also because from what I've seen of the work of Kotaro, I really love what he does.

careful, looks like @TriTTran is a high-level instagram-trained suit scientist!!!

What exactly is nice about the back of someone's head?

Sure, you're right about the photo. I'm sure it's an optical illusion though, and definitely it's my right shoulder that's dropped. The lower area of crumpling (over the pocket) I can definitely vouch for as a transit-related crease which just needs pressing out.

All will be answered once I have re-pressed the suit and had a chance to take some more photos. Will certainly post here.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. On the basis of this first outcome, I will certainly use Coccinella again. In fact I'm most likely going to have Greg ship my length of Minnis houndstooth flannel 0656 direct to Osaka.

the snippet in the foreground looks fantastic.

sorry - here are a couple of additional photos taken under better conditions of Cifonelli jackets to illustrate what I am talking about. The front is clean; the back has all the drape, generally under the shoulder blades.

You are one hella sexy dude, or at least your back is hella sexy. Nice jackets.

Kind of a retro 70's look to it.

Hah. I actually didn't even realize that I was getting the same fabric as him, although now that I think about it I've actually done another jacket (the blue double breasted in the pics) in the same fabric as the sample jacket, which is of course Lorenzo's.

Matthew from Steed just sent me a picture oh his brother trying on my jacket. We're not the same size/height. First fitting for me in a few weeks.

Just out of curiosity, why does your tailor send you these types of progress pictures? I am asking genuinely. Is he looking for feedback from you? Do you ask for them? You can tell very little, if anything, from the first fitting, which is really a tailor's fitting.

I can't imagine John Hitchcock before his retirement sending these sorts of things. But I guess things are different in the impressionable Instagram era.

It's a progress update. Who cares whether some other tailor would have done it back in the day?
