On subject of green jackets - someone with a nordic complexity like @Sander and myself has a lot of use for green jackets. There are so many great shades of green too. I have four green SC:s and one green suit and they are all in my favourite section of my wardrobe.
I'm a big fan of green SC too. It's as versatile as blue, since it goes equally well w/ greys or tan pants. Have two so far, herringbone tweed and linen blend. Planning a corduroy one. But that'll be it for me. One summer, one winter, one shoulder.
The response of a reasonable man. I have four (very heavy flannel sack, heavy windowpane tweed, F/W wool/cashmere, three-season birdseye) and a fifth in the cards for the near future. Probably need to move one to make room.
Sorry, but there are no reasonable men on Sf, especially not on this thread.
So, thanks to @kolecho I am in possession of some delicious Minnis Rangoon in a mid-blue. 6.5m of it, to be exact. I am planning to re-do the core part of my sportcoat wardrobe, commissioning two blazers and one pair of matching trousers, and I am open to suggestions on the remaining length (originally planned for a waistcoat, but a) never wear it; b) 3-piece bastardsuit)
My current thinking for the two blazers are:
1. Single Breasted, one button, two patch pockets, swelled edges, notch lapels. Maybe a ticket pocket. Maybe pocket flaps for a bit of trad.
2. Double Breasted, 6x2, three patch pockets, swelled edges. Debating between 6x2 and 4x2, but I am afraid the latter might make my square frame even square-er. 5'10" and my shoulders need a 42" jacket OTR. (although I am a 39" at the chest with a 7" drop)
I will be updating this thread as I start this at the turn of the year, and I would also welcome suggestions on this project, cheers!
Looks really nice, UC. Have you used these guys before? I've seen the shop but never stopped by.
Are those small pleats on the back? Is that the standard way this shop does it or something you asked for - and if the latter what does it achieve?
Interesting. I have that. Will have to learn more.
I've used Spoon to varying degrees of success. I feel like the elements/dimensions where I went astray (and still want to tweak on one pair) was really the result of my level of understanding and ability to ask for the result I wanted.
