Ongoing Bespoke Projects

There is no real central thread about this, so here goes. Share the joy of anticipation! Show us pics of your current bespoke projects.

Currently, I have two projects in the works, shoes and a suit.

The shoes:

I never found shoes that fit well RTW, and as he measured my feet, Roberto said he wasn't surprised; my length is about equal to a EU45, the circumference of my ball is more like a 42.5. Nice idea for a thread. I have a pair of shoes and a pair of boots in the make. Shoes are Cleverley, like this but in the Russian reindeer:




Boots are Gaziano & Girling, a bit like this but higher on the ankle and in navy:

I'm getting a bespoke double breasted DJ made in a black mohair mix cloth from my regular tailor and a tan linen shirt jacket from a shirtmaker in Ealing (!) who has promised to make me a dressing gown if I can find suitable fabric.






Then I have some MTMOshoes on order at Foster and son and pair of blue/black velvet slippers from Broadland.

Im getting these made up at Foster & Son (no longer stocked)

Whoa, that's a lot of holes. I'm always wondering how much of that russian reindeer there really was... or do we not talk about the mythical treasure find?
My taste in footwear is decidedly more conservative, for my next pair I'm thinking really dark brown (espresso maybe) punch cap toes.

Thanks, I really regretted not taking a spalla camiccia (no arricio, just the way the sleeve is attached to the body) after seeing how beautiful it looks on Benedikts suit (maybe he will post some pics here later as well), but now I'm reasonably happy with it. Should arrive any day now!

I really like spalla camiccia for more unstructured/casual odd jackets. However, when it comes to suits or even worsted blazers I like a bit more of a defined silhouette for the shoulder. Makes it look more formal to my eye. That idea is only compounded when it's a DB configuration.

Either way great suit. Wear it in good health.

Shirts (hopefully arriving this week):

Forthcoming mini-project: Bespoke watch strap (just one, maybe two holes) made from (genuine) "Frau Metta Catherina" Russian reindeer leather.




I haven't decided on the watch yet: either Nomos "Tangente" or a vintage Ullysee Nardin chronometer.

Yes, that was also my reasoning behind it; but a spalla camiccia (often confused with a spalla camiccia con arricio) does not look that informal.

I think the vintage character of the leather would compliment the UN nicely.

I don't really see either as inherently informal ("casual" may have been the wrong word), but I do think all of the spalla camiccia variations create a softer silhouette. Something that is better suited, to my thinking, for an odd jacket execution. A more pronounced sleevhead just creates more of a "frame" for the shoulder (and jacket as a whole) that aesthetically strikes me as more formal. I'm sure that others would argue that, however.

At any rate, digging your execution.

Great idea for a thread. Your suit looks great @Sander love the details on the internal pockets.

Here's one of my current projects at the moment a cashmere sports coat made with London Lounge Cloth made by B&Tailors. Just picked up the finished coat today so hopefully I will put up,a fit pic soon.

Is this from Cleverley? Never considered getting a watch strap from it but I think it would work well.

How much do they charge if you don't mind my asking?

Right at the moment it is just a piece of leather given to me by a friend in the shoe trade. - Nothing has been commissioned yet. One day it might be a watch strap.
