That explains it. You're in the wrong place. You want the no man walks alone thread. Pure masturbation there.

This thread has gone way out past where the busses don't run.

Going to be starting my first few bespoke projects in the next few weeks, and wanted to solicit people's input about do's and don'ts and how to make the most out of this.

I'm going to be looking for a regular tailor in Italy and am thinking about doing a few commissions with different tailors. (Is that a bad idea? Should I just pick one?).

Items on my list include: a charcoal single breasted, a dark navy single breasted, a navy double breasted, and perhaps something in Fresco as well, either a navy single breasted or mid blue double breasted.

I could pick a few different tailors (already have some names in mind) and do one commission from each. Or, since my wardrobe is essentially empty, I could do two commissions from each. What is everyone's thoughts on this approach? Is it a bad idea to get two pieces from a tailor you're new to working with? I'm not so worried about my tastes changing at this point, so it would purely be a question of what I feel the tailor can accomplish for a first go ...

paborden - first and foremost you are making a stylistic choice. Rather than trying multiple tailors because they make suits and are Italian find one tailor that makes suits in a style that makes you say "that's what I want to look like."

Choose one.

Honestly the three I'm looking at (Solito, Tofani, Volpe) to my mind look pretty similar. And I'm not choosing them because I need them to be Italian but rather the whole Naples cut really fits my work and lifestyle ...
