I'm slightly ashamed that I know who's on his IG based on SF past pics :rotflmao:
See, I have the opposite problem: I’m ashamed to say I can’t! And I’ve met several of them in person! Haha. oh well

I'm really liking what I see from Corcos' insta. He's still not accepting new clients, right?

You can get yourself on the list (or at least back then) and it opens up he will contact you during trunk show.

Ps and I was the guy when it opened up then asked if he could do roped shoulder, and he said I don’t do roped shoulder then that was the end of our conversation haha

I heard that Kotaro has beefed up his team with a few more guys to build the jackets.

When I used him, it used to be just him and his wife.

That might explain some of the variance I’m seeing in his work these days.
I think that’s a tough dilemma for every young tailor as they expand & reach capacity as far as number of clients. That’s why kotaro stopped taking new clients for years. If I recall correctly, in 2018, he wasn’t taking new clients until 2020. I believe that was when it was just him and his wife. Do they raise prices to reduce demand, or do they bring on help (which involves some training) and keep prices the same (or only slightly raise them).

I wonder how viable former option was, given that a lot of his clients are Japanese, and Japan has, until recently, undergone negative inflation, and the cost of living in Japan is significantly less than it is in Europe and America. (Which is why a lot of Napoli tailors, where cost of living is even less than Florence, charge international clients 2-3x what they charge italians.)

On a side note, I think it’s important and fair to clarify that the work from kotaro is still done at a high level.
