Tried a no shirt no pants option, but the lighting was bad. So Im gonna go with my fit from yesterday.

Thought about wearing one of my old school ties, but in the end opted for this instead:

Cox, leaving aside the nature of the tie (which I'm sure you expected to draw some criticism), it's a bit tone-on-tone with the shirt. I don't need a lot of contrast, but I do need some.

Disagreed on principle as some of my favorite LabelKing fits are tone on tone. That said, I agree that it's not working here, and I don't know what sort of unquantifiable sartorial flair is needed to be as dandy as LabelKing and pull it off.

Some texture maybe?

@gdl203 is a huge fran of low contrast. i think SWD does it better than MC in general, but i do think it can be done well in MC too, is just a harder combo to do well than your standard medium to high contrast look, imo.

^ I also think low contrast works better when the colors are noticeably different. Low contrast with shirt and tie of the same color can often look rather blah and monochromatic.

Funny, was browsing the good taste thread some more, when I came across this post of an acknowledged sharp dresser:

Cool, never saw that....dude has good taste! I almost went with a white shirt and even thought about wearing a PS for the first time....someday maybe.

Very long time since I visited SF, but looking at the friday challenge and meeting the requirements I couldn´t refrain myself. Actually wanted to wear light-brown khakis but wifey forgot to iron them and I went with white instead, which leaves me looking a bit too much like the ice cream chap I'm afraid... oh well.
We're having the hottest summer day so far, btw.
Cheers, you stylish gents, and keep making the world a better looking place!

Liked this combo (new tie - the Knottery) a few weeks back and decided to bust it out again today.

I'm a fan of exploring low-to-medium contrast and I do think that there's a formatted approach to only wearing dark ties in CM.  Dark ties are great but lighter ones can also work well and have a more soothing overall look.   I'd say that especially in spring/summer, that is a good look.   Too tone-on-tone is usually a fail IMO

This is a good example of a lower contrast tie combo - I think it looks good and it also looks seasonal - double win

Aptly said, since I'm working, just not AT work.

Will look back and see if anything from last week qualified.

For now, this is the only striped "suit" (i.e., wetsuit) that I will be wearing this week. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
