I usually like the DTO challenges. Because they often take you out of your sartorial comfort zone and may even give you a few new ideas as to what fits you.

My idea for a challenge:

Everybody DTO Claghorn.

- Why?

Because Clags usually posts solid stuff, like blue jackets and grey pants, solid suits and ties etc. Even though we might not have stuff of the same cut or the exact same colour/fabric, I think most of us could find a Clags fit we could (probably with less sucess than Clags) DTO in our own way.

Boutonniere Challenge! You sober guys really need to dandy it up around here.

This was an interesting challenge, but really, only six votes..... And here I wore a boring shantung tie that I thought you all would love! Or what was it, the blowing horn, too much??? The Futbol??? I thought Americans were starting to appreciate the soccer.....

Stich, the Great Influencer! You need post on you "blog" more and influence the marketplace not just this tiny world of Styleforum. Then they will just start inviting you to Pitti.

Congratulations! Now you get to post the poll for me and all that fun stuff!

I liked your entry and thought the pictures were very cool. Boutonniere Challenge? No way. No proms or weddings on my calendar this week.

Thank you. I was mostly trolling about my entry, however. My style is far off from the forum groupthing so I like to stir it up a bit. Not only do I wear a three piece suit, pocket watch, and (gasp!) a hat (pretty much everyday); but I wear them to improbable events like a soccer game where I get hit with a water balloon, engulfed in clouds of celebratory smoke bombs, and run around with small children on my shoulders. That's just how I roll.

Exactly the challenge! Not a big flower that gets pinned to the lapel but a simple small flower that fits in the buttonhole (like it's supposed to.) Can you boring CBD guys handle it???

So, I'm thinking we should be able to pull off a team challenge. We would all be on the hook to partner up with someone and submit your entry by Friday. Surely, everyone has at least one person they could PM, call, or email and join forces with. I don't see anyone's feelings getting hurt.

Also, these won't be just two random fits entered as a team. The teammates will have to agree on every element of the fit (i.e., neat tie, solid suit, windowpane SC, suede kicks, etc.). You don't have to wear the same exact items, but a team with a striped tie and a neat won't be allowed, nor will a team with monkstraps and oxfords...you get the idea.

What do you guys think?

i think its fascinating. i think the short time frame may remove some of the potential for hurt feelings, as opposed to say making it a month long thing and all of a sudden its becomes crazy with people vying for partners.

but, lets see what the people have to say.

I'm down, and would love to participate. I think this a great idea from all the discussion I've seen. I also understand if no one wants to partner with me, and my feelings would not be hurt. I think that the noobs know who they are and facts are that if I can't dress up to participate, I will watch earnestly.

I'm especially intrigued with the idea of PM'ing and collaborating with a partner. Even the experienced posters can give recommendations to the noobs, etc. Perhaps this is a good candidate for the previously discussed 2 week timeframe?

I say go for it!

lol that no one would want to be on your team after a very close second place finish.
I'm open to the idea of next Friday, but that needs to be decided by a majority. I'm guessing we would see a lot of solid suit and uniform entries, but it would still take some effort and coordination to pull off. Photography will play a big role too because you don't want someone who takes nice full shots paired up with a shitty selfie dude. I think would (will?) be fun.

You and I both know that that is not my typical caliber.
