Tried a Prearis Quadrupel this Friday evening. 10% alcohol, dark but not as full bodied or flavored as I'd normally find for a quad. Did not taste like 10% alcohol, which is either good or dangerous. Worth trying and would have again, but wouldn't go out of my way to find it.

Got my Beer-It-Forward in!

No note, (I forgot too) but it came from Virginia. Who is it?

Hardywood Christmas Morning
Smartmouth Notch 9 DIPA
Hardywood Bourbon Barrel GBS

Blue Mountain Dark Hollow
Terrapin Tiramisu-Hoo
Alewerks Lover's Greed

Haven't heard of any of this stuff so I'm very excited to try it all.

Good job on that box @kape! Next year I'm picking my name for you wink.gif

Merry Christmas everyone! Drank this last night. 2014 Bottle. Didn't think I'd like it because I'm not usually into heavier Belgian stuff but damn did this hit the spot. Going to have to seek out some more.

It gets better and better and better, Ken... Fresh bottles (under 2 years old) are great but not mindblowing... Try 3-5 year old bottles and well... FACEMELT...

I had a feeling that would happen. Going to have to add some to the cellar.

Have the in-laws in town so my beer stocks were depleting quickly.  Fortunately, they both really like beer and they're willing to help out with propping up the reserves.  Not only did they bring a bunch of awesome stuff into town, pictured above, but my Christmas gift was a beer 'Advent Calendar.'  I'm supposed to start with the last day and work backwards, even though I'm not supposed to drink that beer until tomorrow at the earliest.  Also, this calendar isn't messing around -- there's an '06 Pannepot in here that I'm thinking @hc4thehc would especially appreciate:

Had this one a couple nights back -- I thought it was fantastic, although I'm still not sold on the brewery name.

Thought this one was fantastic too.  A great sour, super flavorful, and the key lime really worked.  I only shared a bit of this one:

Perfectly holiday-ish:

And just a little something extra for all of you with a spring-like Christmas:

And a couple forgettable DIPAs / imperial IPAs to round out the recent beers:

Very nice Dutch dubbel. Affter that, I intended to open the tripel (Zatte), but I took out the wrong 't IJ bottle... a barley wine. smile.gif Chocolaty. Will try it again at a more suitable moment.
