I was in Austin last week and stopped by the Jester King Brewery. The place is amazing...just a dope farmhouse with indoor and outdoor beer stations with picnic tables, fire pits, lights, etc. All out in Hill Country. Was really beautiful.

Since returning, I've picked up Prairie Christmas Bomb! and Vanilla Noir, Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter, Revolution Deth's Tar and Ryeway to Heaven, Hoppin' Frog Gangster IPA, and Port Brewing Barrel Aged Santa's Little Helper.

No pics because I'm boring

Yeah. Not sure what to think about it.

As an investment analyst who pays attention to all the m&a deals, get used to it. It won't happen any less don't forget lagunitas sold a large stake to Heineken a few months ago too. Everything has a price.

That being said I don't think quality control will change much and these companies were growing far too fast and shouldn't be classified as micro anymore so i think it makes sense. It's a good look for the industry as long as they stay autonomous.

Late dinner at home. Homemade chili and corn bread to go with an Old Chub Scotch Ale from Oskar Blues.

Oh, sure, I know it's inevitable. I go back and forth on whether I like it. And yeah, when you sell for one billion, you're not exactly a small company. Upside seems to be scale and distribution. Downside depends on how the new owner handles the business.

Mikkeller Black Hole. My kind of darkness.

A fig and honey beer made by my local bottle shop, a bit sweet for my taste but I was seduced by the label

Aside from Rodenbach and earlier renditions of the TAPX Cuvée barrique (and regular TAP6), I haven't tried any of these. Looking forward to them! smile.gif Especially curious about the TAP6 Vintage... quite a markup over the regular TAP6.

Vtg Tap 6's been on my list since I've heard about it a while back... Feels gimmick-y but what the hey... So many breweries do it... Plus: 5.45 for an "aged'" 50cls beer?.. Still cheap as fuck...

@Principe how is that? I've been meaning to try it.

Mostly recovered from my cold and been drinking some beers again. Haven't opened anything too crazy on slight chance my palate isn't fully back.

This one is technically a "Kolsch Inspired Ale" but I'd say the better way to describe it would be hoppy lager or like Session IPA or something. Definitely tasty and easy drinking. Would be a good summer seasonal.

Overwhelmingly coconut. Not bad but that's pretty much it. Kind of bitter and very dry. Thin on the mouth too. I don't think I finished it.

A good beer but not really my thing style wise. Had to try it at least once.

Just did a run to Night Shift and Trillium on my lunch break. Very stocked up at the moment. I'm going to a party tonight with a bunch of beer guys - I've heard rumors of some crazy things that are going to be shared. I'll keep you guys posted.

Also looking forward to a share Sunday with Concealed and Ocooney!

Final gas and electricity bill came... 336€ refund. Bought a case of Orval (30% discount), 5 big bottles of Rochefort 8 2008, 6 regular bottles of Chimay bleu 2010, and these:

PS: it's 7.25am...
