Much better than the (IMO) very overrated Tank 7.

Some recent beers, primarily local options:

I thought the Brainless IPA was fantastic. The hops just glowed. The Smoked & Oaked was just a bit heavy, though. Wasn't really in the mood for it I guess.

Eh. Tastes German and Halloween-ey all at the same time. Didn't do that much for me.

Another so-so beer for me. Not really a fan of the hop presence in this one, just seemed a bit odd.

Still a winner:

And some recent pick ups:

Damn crushable. Quite juicy at only 5.25%.

Prairie Ok-Si: not a fan. Only noticeable aspect is the alcohol and tequila hotness. Meh.
XXX BBA tripel 2013: lots and lots of sediment. Wasn't that good fresh, defo hasn't improved.
Pannepot Reserva 2010: ridiculously good, always.
Black Albert 2015: fresh batch, stellar beer.

Good beer, but would like to try the (13.1%) original...

Very nice:

Maybe I should've paid more heed to the best after date of January '16. A bit sweet for me, didn't really notice the red wine barrel aspect:

About to start drinking my way across Chicago. Seems like there are a lot of new beers here since my last visit.

^^ Heard good things about Epic's Elder Brett. Never had anything by them.
Suppose it was inevitable, but don't much care for my Alpine Beer Co. beer coming in a Green Flash bottle. Don't get me wrong. I dig GF beers a lot as well. It's just, Alpine was such a tiny, precious gem...

Had a nice day, finishing up with an Old Chub Nitro Scotch Ale at Oskar Blues.

Perfect timing Fueco. One of the beers mentioned in KenP's great Fall-Beer writeup mentioned above.

Where do I find that? This place rocks, and is only 10 miles from home.

Thanks. I missed that when scrolling. This is easily the best Scotch Ale I've had this side of Edinburgh!

No worries. I reckon the nitro smooths the slight bite out on the old chub?
On another note, one of the tastiest concoctions I've ever enjoyed... Last week at my fav pub, 1/4 Habanero Sculpin X 3/4 nitro GF Sculpin. EXCELLENT
