Westevletern #12 (doesn't taste too much different than Bernardus, but a little better)

Fat Tire, and also New Belgium's Tripel and Dubbel
Dogfish 90 Minute
I feel like I'm leaving some other guys out.. oh well

Beer snobs crack me up. I love Guinness, but I'm sure there are plenty of "true" beer drinkers who don't. Different strokes. Personally, I'm in more of the Irish/English beer camp, rather than the Continental Europe camp. A lot of Continental European beers, and beers made in that style elsewhere, just taste funny to me. If you really get into beers, it's pretty amazing how many different types and styles there are out there. It's fun (and relatively cheap) to just grab a six pack of something you've never tried before and drink it.

That said, I always find my way back to Bass and Guinness. I've had a hard time finding anything that tops either. In fact, I have a six of Bass sitting in my refrigerator at home anxiously awaiting my arrival this evening.

This is terrific with ribs.

Goes better with a side of donbalaan IMO.

I lived across the street from the rear entrance of the Guinness brewery for a number of years. Everytime I stepped out the front door of my apartment complex, there was that strong burnt yeast-like smell greeting you in the morning (well, that and whatever was floating in the Liffey at the time). It made it a little less palatable to order Guinness in the pubs, but somehow we overcame and managed to consume copious quantities of the stuff.

An absolutely fantastic Irish beer is Smithwick's, which is a lovely smooth ale. I also enjoy Newcastle and some of the Samuel Smith offerings (nut brown ale and the stout).

I don't typically care for lagers, and I have to say that I have never enjoyed Indian beers in the past. So, strangely enough, one of my favorite beers for the last year or so is Golden Eagle lager. It is hard to find but it has a wonderfully refreshing taste. It has the mildest spicy sweet aftertaste and you might almost mistake it for a seasonal beer. Absolutely delicious and very affordable; try it if you get the chance!

YES. Paradiso has a spectacular selection. Really diverse, too, but I rarely stray far from what they have on tap.
