a friend of a friend owns a liquor store. apparently he moves enough product that Coors hooks him up with multiple cases/deliveries of PTE.

timing couldnt have been worse. Ive gained 15lbs since the holiday and was beginning a low carb diet.

Any tips on trying to preserve a large opened bottle of beer?

I've tried a champagne stopper, but it doesn't work that great.

Got a couple of the 2012 Firestone Sucaba, which is this year's version of Abacus. The name was changed (reversed) because of a lawsuit or some silly business...

How big are these bottles you're unable to finish? A 750mL shouldn't be that hard, if it is, get a friend.

I sometimes leave half a 750 or bomber in the fridge over night. I just recap them or find an odd wine cork lying around.

This works with low carbonation/high alcohol beers fine. Usually I do it with an Impy stout or barley wine. Open and pour out half. Cap right away and back in the fridge. Opening and closing more than once loses the carbonation.

Is GI Lolita worth buying? I can never tell if anything's supposed to be good or not since Beer Advocate's rating system got all fucked and Ratebeer gives 99s to pretty much anything other than Coors. Either way I picked up some Nugget Nectar today. The only other time I had that I was in DC and too sick to actually taste anything so I'm excited to actually try it now. Also got Double Trouble and Orval, possibly the two most delicious beers ever. I wish Orval was cheaper though.
