The Official Beer Thread - Page 537

I also really enjoyed the Espresso Stout, though I can understand if some might characterize it as being a bit bland. I have to admit that I'm slightly predisposed towards Japanese produce though. shog[1].gif I've also been drinking quite a bit of Asahi the day before I tried the Hitachinos, so my tastebuds were quite dulled.

In the realm of Japanese imports, Hitachinos are definitely the most quality. (Although I do still love an ice cold Sapporo when I go out for sushi) Personally, They aren't worth buying though.

I've fallen behind on this thread so here's a bunch. (Like two weeks worth)

This was good but I've decided I don't really like this style that much.

Really amazing. I'll be buying more of this. I was a bit skeptical at $17 but I'm really glad I gave it a shot. Tastes like a peppery funky tart pear. Really interesting.

This one had a similar herbal bitter hop bite that Iris had. Still excellent though. Thanks again Eli!

Another good one but again not my style. This one atleast was a bit more chocolaty than salvation.

2/20/15 Batch. This series is still pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing but that's okay. Really good for drinking a couple of kind of beer. Not a big commitment.

One of my all time favorites. Someone hook me up to IV of this. I'd be happy.

This was good but I won't be trying it again at $23. Was expecting to be wowed and it was pretty much just decent.

Bottled June 2013. Lot of lemony sour, not enough funk IMO. Still very good.

I can't believe matt drinks beer.

I mostly drink Coors Light, but

this is one of my faves. We pick more up every time we run out. I like sour pretty much anything, candy, acidic wine, vinegar etc, so sour beer is right up my alley.

i was going to suggest almanac beers since you like the catholic beers so much but i figured you already knew about them. almanac is fantastic

who knew matt was into beer. the rest of the old people brigade here complain that it makes them bloated all the time and how beer is terrible and tasteless

I really like it. I can pretty much get into anything that tastes really good, and since there are a lot of good breweries around where we now live, it's pretty fun to check stuff out. The Almanac stuff is great. We actually have been drinking it since they started, because they sold their growlers at our fancy meat market in SF. We didn't know it was hip at the time. My wife loves their Golden Gate Gose, and I tend to like more of their sourer stuff. There is a lot of beer I really don't like, but there some really awesome stuff too.

Having some Lagunitas Sucks for the first time. Also found a 2011 Mikkeller Black on the shelves at a local liquor store. Going to give that a go.
