Isn't that just called being a good friend?

It actually wound up only being 24 bottles sold to public and two of my friend were one of the lucky 24, it made their trade value ridiculous....

Results of my drinking last night: Bruery Autumn Maple ale - not bad but it had a slightly cloyingly sweet aftertaste. Not to be repurchased. Captain Beefheart Xtra Gold triple - very flowery/hoppy for a triple. I thought it tasted a bit like elderflower. Meh. Southhampton Cuvee de Fleurs - sort of a belgian pale ale mixed with edible flowers. also meh.

Now - Ithica Thirteen - malt beer crossed with a hoppy pale ale. weird.

It ain't your fault E. That Thirteen wasn't bad at all. Not worth the price IMO, but I'd drink it again upon pain of death.

mmm Paulaner. It's yummy and cheap. Oddly enough, it's also brewed down here in Chile.

Tonight - another night of drinking myself to sleep. Ithica Brute - I do not understand all the love for these vinegar tasting beers. This, was at least marginally better than those guese pieces of ****. Then, Boulevard Seeyoulater Dopplebock - pretty tasty. I didn't get much wood, which was definitely a benefit. I'd drink it again.

brute has got to be one of my favorite sours. i would forgo all beers if i could only drink brute and cantillon (although I still haven't tried CdC yet). i might have a hankering for a good aromatic ipa now and then, but that's about it

i had the innis and gunn scotch ale and the rum aged scotch ale version. i liked them both. i feel like this is what scotch ales should taste like not these massive malt bombs that are so often brewed

^ Haven't tried Brute yet. Gotta keep my eyes open for it.

I called my local beer distributor the other day and asked if they had Abbaye de St. Bon Chien in stock. The guy sighed and told me they stopped carrying it because it was so expensive. I asked how much? He sighed and reminded me that they could only sell beers by the case. Well, how much for a case? When he said $250, I let out an "oh ****" and hung up.

That's actually a good price. They go for $25-30 a bottle down here. I can get you some if you want. LMK.

Sheeeeeeeeit. And I thought I was getting ripped off paying $9 for tiny glasses of it at a bar. I guess it was a great bargain.

I'm glad you liked it. Drinking it when it was first out on shelves was a lot different than it was 6 months later. Fresh it was like it still had cedar chips floating in the bottle, it was that much cedar smacking you in the mouth. 6 months later it mellowed out a bit more, but still had that cedar taste, just not near as much, and then another bottle right about the time it "was past it's prime" was a lot more mellow. I hope they bring this back in a couple years.

That Cigar City 110k+OT I had last night was great. Reminded me a lot like a RIS, and kinda tasted a bit like Goose Island's Night Stalker, but had a more fruity tartness, compared to NS had more of a dark chocolate sweetness to it. I'd give it an A for sure.
