My first Prairie beer... It's brilliant...

^That sounds good!

BrewDog Pumpkin Head
First pumpkin ale I've ever had. Was ok. Wouldn't buy again.

Hitachino Red Rice Ale
Very interesting. Never had anything like it. A bit unusual flavors, but good craftsmanship.

BrewDog Hoppy Christmas
Flavor is good. Aftertaste is quite flat. Hops and aromatics fade away very quickly. Bummer. Just decent.

It is good but that's honestly not one of their best...hope you get your hands on more. The rum barrel aged bomb is probably my favorite stout.

YESSS!.. I too bought my first pumpkin beer! (the Hoppin' Frog Double Hollow Pumpkin Ale)... Not sure what to expect, but I LOVE pumpkins so I'm wày excited!.. shog[1].gif

Just finished the Prairie... Thank you thank you thank you... What a slightly weird, but simply stellar beer... smile.gif

@OmniscientCause - wished they had other Prairie beers but the other two I wanted, Fred's Blend and Pirate Bomb, were already sold out.

@hc4thehc next time I get some Pirate Bomb I'll try to send some your way.

Hitachino Espresso Stout
Quite focussed but also has its rough edges to make it interesting. Good.

Ommegang Adoration winter ale. I'm not as much into beer as spirits so I don't have the vocabulary, but this was very good. Lots going on with the spices but you can still taste the Belgian ale under it. I like winter ales and this was the best I've had. Doesn't taste 10% ABV either.

Had a few ciders from Perry's today. Barn Owl is great. Quite tart but still very balanced. Grey Heron is pretty great too. That sweetness works well. Puffin is a bit too rough. Very dry. Yeasty. Decent but not as good as the other two by a long shot.

Oh yea, also Köstritzer Pale Ale. Nice to see a "larger" brewery get into the "craft beer" business. I was quite surprised by this pale ale. I expect something generic and flat but instead it's actually very hoppy and has nice citrus notes. Good.

Not in the mood for this kind of beer... Imperial IPA-ish...

A coue recent beers:

Pretty nice, I think I've liked everything I've ever had from HUB.

My wife's favorite, it never disappoints. Also, it looks like Cascade (along with pretty much every other brewer) is increasing production.

While I didn't hate this, I generally dislike beers with lavender in them. Had I read the description on the side of the bottle I probably wouldn't have bought this one.
