Too dark to take pics but I was at Peekskill brewpub in the hudson valley.

The amazeballs (galaxy hopped ipa) and nypa (citra and simcoe ipa) was amazing. Both around 5, 6% abv and very Sessionable. I had about 30 oz in an hour and I feel great. The nypa might be the best ipa I've had all year and the galaxy hops on the amazeballs is very eminent. The nypa is borderline dry hopped too much and could use more body. The imperial ipa version is going to amazing if they come out with that. But the aroma is heavenly.

Moscow on the hudson (porter) and simply sour (Berliner Weissbier style) are both excellent. The former has tons of coffee notes without any coffee used. The latter is bright and clean.

I know what I'm getting my santa partner next year

Is Ommegang Biere d'Hougoumont a yearly release or was that a one time thing? I just had a bottle from last year that was excellent, but I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to find it again. Now I'm drinking a Fantome Hiver that's probably 5 years old. Not bad, mildly skunked though from the green bottle. And everything from Peekskill is great. It might be my favorite NY brewery, all their IPAs and the Simple Sour are excellent and I could drink them every day.

Rodenbach Caractere Rouge is okay, but definitely not worth $26. Better than regular Rodenbach, not by much though.

Which is the IPA with brett? Had that when I was in NYC about a month ago. Probably the best IPA I had all year.

I had something called styriana which was a lager brewed with Brett. Was pretty tasty. I'm sure they had an ipa with Brett tho cuz it seems like they're always brewing new stuff

Unibroue 17 Grande Reserve. Had my doubts, but it is awesome. If you need a belgian, this is how one should taste!

Found Fernet this week and picked up a couple. The base beer is great, not sure that the barrel aging adds a ton. Maybe a lightly cooling sensation. I like the beer a lot though.

My family brought me some Good People from Birmingham when they came to visit me. I grew up there and it was a little taste of home.

Went to Boston Beer Works last night- had a flight-
Houblon Rouge- Belgian Style Red IPA- not bad but expected it to be better
Double Vision- Belgian Dubbel- really good
Back Bay IPA- Decent
Black Racer- not really my style

Fun place though. Still have to go to Cambridge Brewing Company- tried to go on saturday but it was way too busy.
