So, speaking of...last night I had a bomber of Chimay blanc and disliked it intensely. Then a bottle of Trappiste Rochefort and that was much better by comparison but still not nearly as enjoyable as the Westmalle of a few nights back.

Chimay Cinq is horribly overrated. Blue and red are the only ones worth while.

While this year's hopslam is still a tasty beer, I don't think the 2012 or 2013 batches compares to 2011. I had some of the 2011 batch on tap at the rocking horse in logan square a few years ago and thought it was some of the best tasting beer I have ever had. Think I would take a Zombie Dust over hosplam, at least right now.

The Publican (normally I'd say fuck that place, but it was for a friend's birthday) had $5 zombie dust on tap last weekend. Hard to go wrong when the cheapest beer on tap is zombie dust.
