I would think a major NY brewery would have distribution in Chicago. Send me some Bell's and I will send you some Ommegang.

Boston and soon to be NY. I'll be able to drink some Bell's next week when I am in NC for a couple of days. The one benefit of my job is I travel a good amount to the southeast so I can find beers I normally can't around here.

Yeah you can find Ommegang pretty much anywhere here. I've seen it sold at Whole Foods.

Appropriate for the Tag des Deutsches Bieres (Day of German beer), a bottle of Local 2. Quite nice, although it's a tad too sweet for my taste. Quite tricky with 9%.

So, I've just found a bottle of Braufactum Indra that I've bought like half a year ago. The shelf life date (or rather "preferrably use by") is 12/2011. baldy[1].gif What's the chance that it's still enjoyable? It's been stored at room temperature.

I will tomorrow, I just wanted to know whether it's more like 75% or 10%. tongue.gif

i tried a lindeman's faro and hoptimum tonight. hoptimum was rather malty, bitter, and not a lot of aromas. never had a faro before but it was overtly sweet and i was looking forward to a barnyard funk character but it didnt have it. frown.gif sadly the only faro available nearby

Beer had some slight off-flavors but overall was still enjoyable.

Didn't know that was a day - where do all these holidays keep coming from? I have a hard enough time remembering mother's day. Good thing I celebrated German beer day without knowing it with Weihenstephan. Absolute favorite hefeweissen right now.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but we have a day for pretty much everything. Not really holidays. And most people don't know about it, but sometimes you see, for example, more people than usual wearing sweatpants and you remember that today is the day of sweatpants.

picked up a bottle of this at Central Market today. Never had it before.

I want to try some new IPA's, but the selection at your better grocery stores these days is daunting. So far my favorites are Dogfish Head 60 Minute and the Sierra Nevada Torpedo. What's another mid-market IPA in that vein that I can get in a 6 pack?
