You shame me.

Tonight - A Terrapin Rye Pale Ale on tap, then I tried out the 8 Wire Stout. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Better options for cheaper.

i dunno why you dont like it. pines, citrus, grapefruit, nice balanced hops. or maybe its just me?

do you guys think lupulin threshold shift is real? cuz the ipas i used to think are bitter i go back and try and i dont find bitter at all. maybe i should give arrogant bastard another try

Flower Power is probably the second best IPA that I've ever had, Two-Hearted being my number one...

Bah, bunch of hop heads.

Had Southern Tier's Oat stout last night. Probably my least favorite of all the ST stouts.

I thought hops were pretty well balanced. A lot of hop aroma but not a lot of the bitterness

Concept is kinda like cbs. Sweeter, less boozy, very little carbonation, syrupy in texture. Quite nice. If it had more bitterness from hops and better carbonation i think it'd be excellent

You'd probably like the regular Black Hole then. Definitely try their Black if you can find it.

nice. will buy those next time

Out of curiosity - how much did that barrel aged Black Hole run you? I just paid $14 for mine.

i honestly dont remember. i bought a bunch of beers at the same time

i would not pay 14 bucks for this. it's good, but quite a few other beers i could buy

One of the better beers I've tried recently. Porter aged in Aquavit barrels.

On my way to pick up some Backwoods Bastard today. I'm expecting good things.

I've seen that. Have to snag it next time I'm at the store.

Tried the Mikellar barrel aged Black Hole. Didn't like it. The burbon aging added too much bite to the stout and sort of killed the smoothness. Certainly not terrible, but definitely nowhere near worth $14.

I thought that might be true here when I opened it. The aquavit is very present on the nose, but much less so on the taste. Very smooth drinking.

Drinking the Backwoods Bastard now. It's good and very reminiscent of KBS.
