Yeah, I remember reading a long explanation about how the different glassware can affect the flavor/notes of the beer. It's fairly similar in how glassware can affect whiskies. Plus, most glassware can be had for fairly cheap and it's not like it's a big hassle to use a different one for a different beer. If I were just drinking to get drunk I wouldn't give a shit about the glassware...

what is the best all-around glass to get? i don't really have the space for multiple wine, liquor, and now beer glasses. i'm thinking i'll just go with those i linked earlier and call it a day. in the end, i will only care about 3 beers in then after than who cares.

If you were to have just one beer glass, I would say these are the most regarded as being engineered to enhance the beer (etchings to continually renew the head, space to trap the aroma and deliver it to your nose, the lip pours the beer on your tongue starting at the tip to hit all your taste buds and holds the head back allowing the liquid to come under it, etc)

The Duvel tulip, which many call the best beer glass ever made. Can be bought separate, or even better, free in a gift pack.

The Dogfish Head glass, similarly engineered. Can be ordered off of their website.

Finally, the Sam Adams perfect pint. I was happy to recently acquire one on my visit to the brewery! Otherwise pretty easy to order online or find in a good beer shop.

Hope that helps!

The glass definitely makes a big difference. Actually, as of recent I started drinking "good" beers out of wine glasses and it definitely makes a big difference. I think going to score one of those Duvel gift packs and maybe pick up a snifter or two at Crate & Barrel.

As soon as I looked at this topic, la fin du monde came to mind. I'm surprised to see it's so popular in here, as I thought it was kinda unheard of... the first time I came across it was a month ago at a French restaurant. It's the newest beer I've tasted, but by far my all-time favorite so far.

As for the rest:

2. chimay yellow label, particularly draft
3. rogue dead guy ale
4. stella artois (my go-to gas station beer)

I use the stemmed pilsner the most, if I had to chose one to keep it would probably be that one.

My only qualm with some of the other similarly shaped glasses offered in gift packs is that I hate the engraving/logoing; but I'm unusual, most people wouldn't and don't care.

i hear ya about the logos and such. not a huge deal, but still feels weird to me. i ordered some of those spiegelau glasses. i'll probably get one of the duvel gift packs once they get released since we are around the holiday season. may as well see what the fuss is about since every search i did about beer glass returns Duvel as being the glass to get.

I wish they made this wonderful hop-bomb all year long, I'm just glad I still have one 4-pack left! Probably one of the best coffee beers I've ever had and it's not even a stout, it's a Dopplebock...

good luck, if you're anywhere in illinois it maybe hard to find. it's one of their limited releases and it's been out for over a month. chicago got picked clean the first day of it's release and i was lucky to find it...
