As for favorites...
Goose Island Chicago
....Bourbon County Stout was the best beer in the world to me until they released....Bourbon County Coffee Stout! Good luck finding it. A+ rating on beeradvocate. Delicious.
Also enjoy from them, Perre Jaques, Nightstalker, and Matilda. Strangely their widely available Summertime and 312 wheat don't do much for me, but nothing that comes in a 12 pack does anymore lol.
Next is
Unibrouie
From Quebec. Haven't found one I haven't loved yet. All of them have a similar belgian yeast flavor and a bit of "champaign" carbonation and flavor to them. They also make the annual ales for Trader Joes. If you've never had one, start with La Fin du Monde for a fruity belgian or Maudite if you like a bit less fruit flavor.
Also I'm working through
Stone Brewery
which recently was released in chicago. I didn't care for the Arrogant Bastard ale. Maybe I got a bad bottle but it was too bitter for me. Self-Righteous ale was delicious though, a bit of grapefruit and tons of west coast hops. I've got a Russian Imperial stout and a Barleywine ready to drink next.
This year its like a whole new world opened up to me with fine beers, thanks to my beer savant friends for inviting me to it.
