Tips in this genre?

I am a fan of the Mikkeller Spontan series - particularly the pineapple.

Thanks. I'd like to start with the (Belgian) classics, to get a better idea of sour beers. I did the same thing with doubles, triples and quads, for example, starting with the trappists and trying newer versions later on.
Mikkeller probably makes a more modern version?

They are predominantly fruit based but there is the odd dry hopped version (not for me) and some oddities such as Beetroot. I think they are overpriced for what they are but honestly the pineapple one is phenomenal and I would happily stock up on those.

They are actually made at De Proef so are technically Belgain but as you say it's best to get to know the classics first.

Lambic is quite a new style to me too as nobody I know likes them (or any sours to be honest) so I have those either by myself or when I'm feeling anti-sociable.

Doesn't rate against the top IIPAs, but quite nice.

Random order:

Girardin Fond (Black label), stay away from the white label
Tilquin
Cantillon
Oud Beersel
Moriau
3 Fonteinen
De Cam

Quick tip: Oude Kriek and Oude G(u)euze = good. Regular Kriek = sweetened.

Stay away from nonsense such as Lindemans, Timmermans, Chapeau, Mort Subite, Belle Vue,...

From your neighbouring country in the north that didn't get to play at the EC. frown.gifsmile.gif Thanks. I will first support my local beer shops; I believe they have some Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen, for instance. At this time, it's more for trying a new type of beers than that I really enjoyed my first introduction to them. Probably a taste to really slowly acquire...

Oranje boven!.. Best bet is to get your arse over to Belgium and pick up geuze here... Much, much cheaper for you...

New beerfridge. It's a BEAST... In pic, compared to a standard bottle of Talisker 10yo.

Gonna be used in combination with an external thermostate of course, set at around 13C°/ 55F.

Nice @hc4thehc! I'm getting ready to pick up a new beer fridge too, once our garage is finished. I figured I'd just pick up something cheap and used off of CL. Wondering about an external thermostat, since I'm assuming the fridge will only consistently hold lower temps.

Shared some beers with a friend tonight:

Never had anything from these guys before.  Pretty substantial, decent malt, a really interesting -- maybe floral? -- flavor in the finish to go along with the hops.  Interesting, not what I was really expecting from a DIPA.

Flavors reminiscent of Sticky Hands, but a bit thinner after the start.  Overall not bad.

Posted this one a while back, still really like it.  Fruity and sour and crisp.  Perfect for the abominably hot weather we've been having.

Dupont x Lost Abbey collab saison. I like it, but somehow it doesn't feel balanced.
