A few more. The Avery was best. Passion fruit was very pleasant. The Radler was crushable, of course.

Cocostella what did you think of the DC spots?

Drinking trillium. My dad sent me a 12 bottle box for the 4th.

We've been staying with friends in Vienna. We came into town for the sights and dinner/drinks, but now are in DC proper tonight and for the Fourth. We take the train into NYC on the 5th. The Gibson was quite enjoyable. Started out at the bar, then wrapped up on the outside patio, which we dug. I had an Old Fashioned, Side Car and a Sazerac. Dined at Doi Moi, which was equally good, particularly the whole fried snapper.

Hit up Church Key today (thanks brp). Had Oxbow "continental" saison, Fantome "Hiver," Jolly Pumpkin "Luciamaga" and Maine Beer Co "A Tiny Beautiful Something." All were delicious, but the MBC was the standout. Don't come across most these on the west coast! Wish I could try some Tillium, Lawson's and The Alchemist though.

First week of paid vacation.

Nice doi moi is actually my favorite spot in Logan for dinner though I haven't been in like a year. And yea that snapper is good. I didn't realize Gibson had a patio.

Have fun on the mall today assuming that's where you'll be. I have no interest in doing anything crazy. It's too busy down town for me on the 4th.

City center is worth checking out. Most stores are opened by now maybe just a few bat arnt and there are decent food offerings.

Thanks OC. We spent all day cruising memorials, botanical gardens (with last of my Westbrook Gose!) and of course were on the mall for parade and culture festival before getting rained out. We kept an early dinner simple at Wiseguy Pizza. I've got a cooler full of beers here in the hotel room and the hotel (Liaison) has a rooftop deck to peep the fireworks, so no standing around in the rain waiting for them to go off, or cancel. Looking forward to grabbing the train at nearby Union Station for NYC tomorrow.

All ears for NYC recs too!

since you are talking dc, i am going to be in bethesda tuesday-thursday next week.  anything worth hitting within easy striking distance?

I honestly have no idea. There is a cool brew pub in silver spring called denizens. Beer is good not amazing but there is lots of put door space.

Haven't opened anything particularly interesting lately.  Here's an exception.  Sorry for the crappy pic; Block 15 Turbulent Consequence Peche 2015; very nice and sour:
