when i used to drink beer occasionally back then , i never knew the difference between all of them, except for some were worse tasting than others, and some were more tolerable than others.
i havent tried too many beers, but the worst was from 7 eleven: Mickey's or Old English 8 ball whatever forgot the name. it was a 40 .
the most tolerable was MGd. I dont know. everybody drank it mostly back then. so i just did the same when i was with them. what did i know. i guess it was tolerable


Heineken for me was tolerable too i guess. i think psychologically, i liked it more, because i always heard people talk about it, and "oooh, Heinies!" always said with adoration. and the bottle was green and delicious looking so it added more to my liking it.



...i heard somewhere a long time ago, that there was actually an expensive beer that really literally tasted good. like it tasted sweet and like cream soda. like it was really decadent. anybody know what this is? i am curious.

My regular beer:

yes, it was CRAP.
my friend and I bought it and tried to drink it because we heard it mentioned in a rap song or something once.

I've got a decent selection of beer here in CR (although not GREAT) but my fridge looks like this: 1) Toña: It's Nicaraguan and doesn't have the horrible aftertaste that most Costa Rican beers do. It's also pretty cheap as a 12 pack so it's been my go-to beer at home (hard to find at restaurants). 2) Guinness. About $2/bottle so I drink it on occasion or until it goes on sale. (Side track: Why does paying $10 for a 6 pack seem so expensive compared to buying a pints at a pub?) 3) Maccabee. Tasty beer from Israel that's pretty cheap as imports go (buck a bottle) and for some reason has distribution down here. Being so cheap and tasty (kind of like Stella but better, IMO) I usually wipe out the store when it comes on stock. This all changes once I hit stateside...(maybe not Guinness).

i remember one friend i had back in college always bought Rolling Rock. He was always like, "Rolling rock for me baby" or "rolling rock, please"..etc.

so i always was curious about it. thinking about it. while we were shooting pool or what have you. thinking in my mind...rolling rock. rolling. Rock. it sounded good. the words went together. mmm.
so i bought one and i later regularly bought rolling rock too whenever i went out on the weekend, i would be like," bartender, yeah...rolling rock here"

that phenomenon also occurred with other social drinks for me like :

7&7
Tanquerey and 7 (for a long while, i had no idea Tanqerey was a brand name of a gin, i just ordered it not knowing what Tanquerey meant, because i heard a friend order it all the time)
rum and coke
corona (i put lime in it just like others)
tequila shot ..Don Cuervo was the big one, always ordered "don cuervo"

yeah, come to think of it, i guess i drank only the 'poor man's 'drinks, cuz i hung out with poor college kids and i was poor too.

if i knew Lando endorsed that back then i would have drank that all the time. i had no idea, thanks.

You don't start getting drunk halfway through buying a sixer? I mean, you can, but this is frowned upon is most establishments.
