Thanks guys.

Just kopped them. At size 10 (following the excellent guide on first page); I hope they fit well.

Couldn't resist the the price at slightly above USD 300. Havent been wearing anything suede for almost 20 years! Hope they will serve me well as beater boots. 😊

Anyone handled the melange wool from fw14? Tempted to get some cornell or high water slacks in that fabric.

Relatively soft for wool as is a blend (59% WOOL 24% POLY 11% COTTON 6% SILK), highly textured with a pretty soft handfeel. They used it on several things like the barnstorm, granger, etc that season.

Nice, thanks.  Sounds like it would go well with some of my Soloist bits (which have a very soft hand).

Thoughts on the black jeans? (Look more grey).

In general is black denim acceptable? Or not?

I have my eye on:

Should I just go with the classic 'blue jeans' or try out the black?

Just noticed that the webstore has slightly different inventory when shipped to Japan vs rest of the world. Prices appears to be much cheaper as well for Japan shipping.

Does it make sense to do a proxy buy? Any one tried that?

have the corps jacket coming to me tomorrow; stoked to see how it is in person. also returned a pair of black virgils which were super nice, but didn't fit the type of outfits i've been wearing.

Just as a heads up for anyone in NYC the dudes at Carson Street got the Sanjuro Down coat and the Thorson in black. I had ordered the Thorson online in a size 3 and it's quite roomy. Don't mind the body but the sleeves are a bit too big - it's a true repro. The material and construction is crazy though. It's a heavy, thick jacket.

just got the corps jacket today and it's really nice; reversible, padded with down like material, and pretty warm. this is my first piece of visvim clothing [though own a few pieces of footwear] and i can see why everyone is totally into it. initially, the clothing looked cool, but mostly seemed as though you had to commit 100% to the look e.g. denim jacket, jeans, white shirt, virgils in order for it to look good or fit into an outfit. this is one of the pieces that i've seen that fits with my wardrobe and aesthetics.

now i'm thinking about picking up some cropped pants...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what do y'all use to clean/maintain your suede Virgils?
