Cheers!

I actually waited with combing my hair until after I had snapped the picture, in order to stay true to the overall feeling of the painting I chose. :D

Both Gmmcl and EFV are next level brilliant.

I, on the other hand, am suffering from some serious dresser's block.

The sum total of my knowledge of art could be written on a post card, but I do like the primary colours of Mondrian, so just for fun ...

However awful it may appear from a "SF-approved" point of view (and good taste in general) to add black to this mix, that's what you need to do to actually mimic the look of the painting (and Mondrian's style). Black socks and belt, perhaps.

Look at Mondriaan's paintings and you'll see that most of the rectangles are actually white.

This is actually really difficult, and a true Challenge. I was thinking about it while getting dressed this morning and couldn't find a way to truly capture the flavour of some of my favourite artists (I lean somewhat towards the Baroque era though can be fairly eclectic). I'll try again tomorrow as I developed a couple of ideas later in the day. Really intriguing contest and I love all the entries so far!

I love ukiyo-e and I hope to own a couple of original prints one day, but until then some pocket squares will have to do. I used the colours, material and the spring cherry blossom depiction of the woodblock print on this cotton Udeshi pocket square as my inspiration. Of course I'm also wearing the aforementioned hanky!

Cotton/linen SC, cotton/linen shirt, cotton/linen tie, cotton PS, cotton socks and linen trousers.

The "Portrait Of Hugh Montgomerie, Later Twelfth Earl Of Eglinton" by John Singleton Copley and I.

I am wearing Brooks Brothers jacket, shirt, tie, and sweater vest, Land's End trousers, and Allen Edmonds shoes. Hugh Montgomerie is wearing the uniform of the 77th Foot (Montgomerie's Highlanders).

Spoilered because it's not my actual entry, but it might be some inspiration for others.

I haven't worn this suit for over 6 months, so it's a little dusty. This is take 2 for the Friday Challenge, but I prefer my first entry. It's based on the Great Wave off Kanagawa, probably the most famous Japanese woodblock print. I was planning to take a picture on the beach for this, but unfortunately it's raining today.
