What do you think about these? - Page 3

At the Gym I use Prada, I never wear trainers outside the gym though.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahaha. Hope you don't get knee problems. How can you possibly actually get a good run in those things? There are a bunch of runners on the board, and I'm sure they'll all agree with me that a good pair of $80-100 NBs are much superior performancewise. No LV sneakers either - as Mike said, pretentious, arriviste - trying about 100x too hard. The Hogans are okay, though sort of boring (although I've seen some Italian guys (and not one American) really pull those off. Get a sneaker that is actually a sneaker. If you want something classic, try out some of the the classic adidas models. I've seen a pair of shiny leather Sambas recently that are pretty cool, but obviously sneakers for the street, BTW, Nike Terminators, Dunks and Vandals rock - they last quite a long time too.

Do you think I am a professional athlete?
It doesn't matter whether or not you're a professional athlete. When you're doing any sort of high-impact physical activity (basketball, running, aerobics, or even free weights) you should wear a shoe designed for that. I have about as much confidence in Prada building a shoe properly made for athletics as I have in George W Bush supporting gay marriage and marijuana legalization. If you want shoes to wear to the gym, go get a Road Runner Sports catalog (or hit up a Shoe Pavilion or DSW) and buy some real athletic shoes... New Balance, ASICS, or maybe some Nike, Reebok, etc. Unless you value looking expensive more than you value your joints and tendons, in which case, Prada all the way.

If we replace expensive with good. Yes, I do. It is not as if I have any problems with my joints, and, by the way, I have been to the gym in formal shoes a few times now, and had no problems. I do not think you realise how minimal my use of the gym is. Besides this is a pointless issue.

So, what's the collective opinion on these?

I think that how good you look is directly correlated to how frequently you use the gym.

On a just-barely-related note, ImageWIS' posting of the Classic Sport Shoes website led me to Americangoodies.com, a website which will allow me to buy stuff from US retailers that don't accept international orders... Yay. Send me an e-mail if you're ever in Melbourne, Jon, and I'll buy you lunch. Cheers. Wandering back on topic, I find the Skutnabb looks a little generic. I'd personally go with the Black-and-white Tuscany GTs. The red-and-tan Pradas look nice, too, but I couldn't see myself buying them unless they were on clearance at 75% off or so... EDIT: Anyone have any thoughts on the K-Swiss Amestoy?
Happy to help Jon.

I'm rather fond of the Gucci sneakers.  A bit pricey at $360, but I'm thinking about making the splurge since I just made the switch from investment banking to a very casual startup....the cfo wears shorts, hawaiian shirts & stan smith adidas' to work regularly. Gucci Sneakers

Can you please post a pic of the Gucci sneakers? The link takes you only to the Gucci homepage. Jon.

They look like a bad pair of Adidas. I would rather just save over $200 and purchase a pair of Adidas. Jon.
