Alright, so I ordered the work shirt in heavy cotton twill in gray and purple plaid. On to the AW olive fatigues in reverse sateen. Are these pants going to have a life past fall here in the Northeast US? Or are they a thinner type of fabric? I've never owned EG fatigues so I'm curious. Tough to tell from the pics.

Sent you a PM about those pants @FlyingLotus ... Also that Dayton jacket is a nice deal for someone who it fits.

@eluther Nice write up!

What size did you go for in the EG Highland Parka?

Fit pics from Haven (as previously mentioned above) appear somewhat deceiving. Note in particular the sleeve length (seems short for a size small on this model.

I just got the workshirt this weekend (last one, second row, on the PDG's pic). It's badass! Fantastic quality. I'm strongly considering purchasing another. I was considering trying a few more brands, but I don't know if they could top this. Can anyone compare the EG quality/weight to Flathead (the heavyweight) or Gitman Vintage? I'm just curious.

Quality is comparable to Gitman (they are the only two shirts I wear 90% of the time), Flathead is better than both. Weight depends on fabric.

@El QUaG – I'm typically a M, sized down to a S. As for Haven's fit pic, I'm 6" and the length of the sleeves on my S are long enough that I don't have any exposed cuff. No idea what's going on there, unless he's actually wearing the XS.

@goldenbear – I basically second @tjonesd2's comment, but EG is a lot more likely to have errant threads than GBV or Flathead. It absolutely makes no impact on the clothing itself, but there are occasionally people who get rankled that a $200 shirt doesn't look like it was laser cut by a immaculately engineered robot in a sterile Taiwanese factory.

@habitant No – I just had no idea what a parka entailed and I'm assuming they're supposed to fit pretty large.

I disagree. It's really not fair to compare a workshirt to a Gitman vintage button down. The workshirt by EG is far superior in construction to Gitman shirts in that aspect though.Reinforced twill tape placket, ridiculous amount of bar tacks, reinforced shoulder and elbow, Triple stitch construction throughout... Regarding fabrics, I am always impressed with Daiki' selections of chambray and fw flannels. I haven't felt the shirt you're referring though so I'll shut up now. But if you're looking for workshirt style shirts to compare to Eg, look at Orslow, Sassafras, post overalls.

Isn't it a useless piece of clothing for Phoenix?

Some of us have another polar vortex to look forward to this winter, and bros are copping heavy wool garments for LA and Phoenix....in August nonetheless

. Am I missing something, more of a collectors item, resale?
