Streetwear & Denim Travel Recommendations

I decided we needed a thread for this, and I may as well be the one to start it. We've got people all over the globe, and when it comes to travel, it seems a lot of us are on similar pages and enjoy similar things/activities that one may or may not find in common travel guides or elsewhere on the internet. Or, we just trust each other's judgment more. So this is the "ask a local" place where we can get advice from our styleforum friends for when we are traveling to their neighborhoods, or where we can ask others among us who have traveled to wherever we may be heading.

Inspired by recent questions in RFT re Scandinavia that I too would be interested in hearing about.

I don't really want to derail the thread, so please PM your thoughts if you'd like to share them with me.

I did a bunch of recs for Copenhagen not to long ago.

TBS, Svensson etc. is a 30 min train ride away in Malmø, TBS is only open on saturdays though.

Rosenborg, Meatmarket, The Opera, Lousiana, Torvehallerne, Nyhavn, Charlottenborg, Statens museum for kunst, Christania, Ny Carlsberg Glyplotek, Botanisk have.

Denmark doesn't have Allemandsret like Sweden and Norway has, where you pretty much can pitch a tent (no pun intended), anywhere you want in the forest.

Perfect, as my wife and I are going for a week in early September. A few things I am wondering about:

Where is the best place to go out for drinks at night if you're young-ish (20s/30s)? We'd be looking for a laid-back bar, maybe with live music if anywhere has it, and then for later on, are there any clubs you can recommend?

If we want to check out Malmø one of the days we are there, is the train the best option for getting there? Anything special there that we should not skip once we are there?

Any local traditions/activities that we should try to take part in while we are there?

And most importantly, where can I find the best WAYWT wall in Copenhagen?

I rarely drink,but I like Lidkoeb, besides that there's Mikkeller, Ourselves Alone, Ruby, 1256, Salon 39 (they have a great burger), Holmens kanal Cocktailbar, Strøm, Biblioteksbar, fermentoren, also there's a champagne bar at Torvehallerne, which is supposed to be good.

I don't think I have been to a night club in 8 years, but Sunday Club is from what I've heard the place to go.

Regarding Malmø take the train, get an orange ticket they are cheaper, if you go on a saturday, TBS is open. (remember your passport)

The only thing I can think of right now is the yearly Crayfish party in Sweden in August (can't remember the date), if you like crayfish it's worth a visit, people sit outside drinking and eating with live music.

Where are you staying?

Having just moved to San Fran from LA, this is an excellent idea. I still subscribe to the "LA dining and shopping" swd thread and its been great, wish there was one for SF as well...

*edit* only been in SF for less than two weeks and Mikkellers has been a godsend. Great spot for beer, food is pretty good to boot.

Smitten has hands down the best ice cream (super creamy and thick) - totally blew my mind. Humphrey Slocombe has interesting flavors - I really like the Breakfast Blend - bourbon flavored ice cream with corn flakes mixed it (it's awesome trust me).

Thanks. I will make a note to check some of those places out. We don't know where we are staying yet but will probably try to find an airbnb; we are there for about a week, but for the weekend that we're there we have two other couples joining us from England and Germany, so I might try to find somewhere that will fit all 6 of us and just have the extra space the rest of the time. So if there are any neighborhoods you'd recommend or any we should avoid, that info would be great. It looks like I am going to have to book fairly soon as places are already getting snatched up.

Downtown, islandsbrygge or christianshavn, I would personally avoid nørrebro, but other people love it.
