Hi,

I noticed that there is a lack of articles on how to properly wear and match shoes with jeans for the modern gentleman.

This inspired me to create a detailed image guide and explanation on how to wear dress/formal and casual shoes with your different shades of jeans, inclusive of style and color matching of shoes with jeans. (Click link below for the detailed guide with explanation)

As Jeans are a staple in every man's wardrobe, hopefully you will find this resource useful!

Cheers,
Don

Hi!

What you guys think about these oxford shoes. Could they go with slim dark jeans?

Dark brown cap toes in grain with rubber soles.

This is awesome. We shoot a lot of our lookbook / styled shots in a bit more jeans, etc. and it just doesn't seem to be translating. Great guide.

What are your thoughts on brown suede shoes with jeans?

It works. I wore brown suede Balmoral boots with jeans on the weekend and it looked good. The suede, chunky sole and "360 degree" flat welt detracted from the overall formality of the style, making it a match for denim.

I agree with others that black shoes are perhaps not the best for jeans but it can work. Military-style high-cut Derby boots look fine, as do black suede/nubuck Balmoral boots. However, they'll never beat a rich brown or burgundy.

@Kochegar

Impossible to tell from picture alone, dress shoes is a chapter for itself. I do not know the brand you have listed there. If you are looking for recommendation i had great experiences with Carmina shoe maker that i think make a great value shoe - and even better if you can find a gently used pair (if you happen to know your size).
