A Harris - I didnt mean it as an insult to RL when I said he was a broker of clothes. Ofcourse most companies do this, and that was my point. In fact, I am a broker myself, of packaging, for the cosmetic field. It bothered me to hear that RL is junk, because as we have both stated, RL doesnt really make anything. They design things, and then outsource the manufacturing. I think some people still dont understand this. Its like somebody saying they love Burberry MTM suits, but hate Hickey Freeman. Well, they are both made by Hickey Freeman. Most brands these days are merely shells, names really, and the stuff is all made in either China or Europe. The way of the world I suppose. And as for preppy wear, I am up here in CT, and I kind of like the whole thing. I grew up in Queens, and was never really exposed to it as a kid. But I do like the style up here for one reason - I love the continuity. I enjoy going to church and seeing a 10 year old boy in a brooks blue blazer, next to a grandfather in the same outfit. Maybe I am old fashioned, but I like that. In most places I have seen kids in this generation dress in increasingly absurd ways, its nice to see a kid aspire to look like his dad or granddad. As for people somehow thinking that someone dressed like a preppy is a prep school rich kid with no motivation, its as slanderous as saying the black kid with the baggy clothes is a pickpocket.
